What are you playing tonight?

Whereas you can keep most of Lou Reed's stuff for me, I saw Laurie Anderson do her The End of the Moon show at The Lowry a few years ago just after she'd finished her stint as Artist in Residence at NASA. I thought that it was absolutely superb.
A guy that I know who writes stuff for TV was also at the same show and thought that as a piece of theatre it just didn't work.
As I simply stated that it worked for me he played the I-work-in-television-and-you-don't-know-what-you're-on-about card.
Hey ho.

Have a fantastic evening.

Was a great night, Bruce.

I also saw that Lowry show - thought it was fantastic. Absolutely gripped by a succession of parables that made you laugh, and then shocked you, and made you think...

She did one tonight that was first funny, then discomforting, then totally shocking, then the little nut at the centre of the story was revealed and had us nodding in recognition of a human truth. Prefer her to Lou by some distance, though I think he's pretty good at his best - mixed evening from him, some routine, one banal, but one new number, Halloween Parade may turn out to be the title (tonight's show all new, at least to the uk), while still having familiar Reed rock patterns had more dazzling lyrics than has been seen for some time...

Hey - glad I went... :D

To be honest, William, I ended up staying in on Saturday night wishing that I'd gone. Glad you had a great evening.

Narr then, I've just had notification through from The Octagon that they're running And Did Those Feet from 11th March to 10th April next year. Can I say that I know you? :D

Was mystifed and quite grateful when a work colleague presented me with eight CD's entitled "Best Chillout" (yeah, one word). I shall be returning them at the first opportunity. Only music I ever heard where "Flight of the Bumble Bee" and "Dambusters March" plus many others of all denominations, all sound like very bad versions of "Oxygne". Add some weird titles such as "Voodoo Warriors of Love, Terra Thaemlitz, Sad World and Deep Space Network and I realise why he gave them away. :(

The Gaslight Anthem are pretty cool, a bit samey, but good nonetheless.

Currently listening to The Long Ryders. :)

Sonic Youth - The Eternal.

Proper music from a proper band, showing these youngsters how to do it.

Nouvelle Vague's Bande a Part.

I never for one second thought that I'd ever fall in love with this album as much as I have.

How good is that version of Fade To Grey?

I've been listening to Kruder and Dorfmeister, Clubroot, Moderat and Django Reinhardt. Not a proper band amongst them.

Also been delving into this selection: http://14tracks.com/selections/67-14_tr ... _by_takoma

All washed down with a glass of Co-op Beaujolais.
