I'm a Bolton fan who doesn't have a low opinion of Sunderland. I have a low opinion of the high proportion of cock measuring delusionals that infest their fanbase, perpetually telling everyone who doesn't have a 45,000 capacity stadium they've not filled for 8 years that they're a tawdry little club not worth bothering about, and how their club is definitely going to get into te Champions League now they've signed players who didn't achieve that with their previous clubs. But I don't have a low opinion of Sunderland.
Thats just cos you,ve got a little cock though.. ? :?
No need to get personal. Someone's said that on this thread. Can't remember who, though....

I am more than aware that Bolton have their fair share of idiots, just as I am aware that Sunderland have their fair share of decent fans. Ours just turn on our own, rather than give it the "big club little club" rubbish that counts for nothing, represents nothing and does nothing other than to make the person comparing club sizes look sad and without foundation for their argument.
Wasnt my intention to do that.. just came to share a bit of info, as i do from time to time, on a thread that is about general transfers ( and admittedly was pleased and proud about our new signing , but why shouldnt i be?). Just i cant resisit being a bit tongue in cheek and when you lads insisit on opening up your own old wounds i have to go along with it..then you started talking about our cocks and stuff.....which i thought was strange but hey ho , "when in Bolton" as they say :)

As for the tax thing, what i meant was it would not affect players wanting to sign for English clubs, as they are payed net...i was forgetting that finding the extra may be problematic for some clubs, no names like

I believe it was supposed to be pretty damned shiny last season with the man manager Keane. What happened to that polish?
aye your right...it took a bit of damage through hard riding..but some of the components are still there and will shine up like new, richardson. mabranque, ferdinand. mcartney.. maybe even that plank Gordon please God.

Fair enough, and it wasn't my intention to open up the old wounds between a Sunderland fan that, IIRC, quickly disassociated himself from the idiots that usually come on here and give it the big "I am". The cock thing is merely an analogy of how similar the "big club" discussion is to wapping it out and saying "look at how big this is".

FWIW I reckon Cana's going to turn out to be a decent signing - won't rip up trees, but will give you significantly more bite and quality. God knows you need it  .

Think you have a much better chance to move forward this season largely because of your manager. Couldn't ever understand any of the accolades given to Keane as a manager. It finished exactly how I predicted, and the signings of Diouf and Chibonga also ended how I expected. Malbranque I do rate, but was disappointed last season. Seemed very effective for 60m then just ran out of steam. Was there an injury, poor team prep or age creeping up. Or do you just disagree.

I knew that

I hope Cana is as good as his hype, if he is you are correct we need a ball winner and an enforcer, too many poor sides competed well against us last season simply on strength, and we seemed to wilt at the very thought of it. Still need a couple more strong lads in yet, hoping this De silva is a good buy, CB captain of Paraguay ??

AS for last season and Keano , in retrospect the man is deeply deeply flawed but i wouldnt have missed having him for the world. If you put us back in the position we were in when he came ( bottom of the CCC) and offered us the same deal 99% of us would take it, promotion in one year and staying up..??

unfortunatley he is stark raving mad and is so self confident that he believe she can change reality , sometimes you can but not just by force of will. You have to be clever and cute, something that Bruce now appears to be.

Malbranque was dissappointing for parts of last year, youre correct was taken off after 60 mins more often than not, often to the crowds total dismay, for some reason Roy used to like to get some half assed irish subs a game ( must have been in his contract with drummaville i think). Once roy went steed started to play closer to 90 mins more often. i think steed suffered when we lost a couple of footballers who played right sided, chimbonda and diouff. he needs an option outside to flourish i think and what we had when they left was zero. Hopefully we will fix that this year and he will benefit

Toure to City . . . I don't understand why Wenger is selling them players that will help them knock Arsenal out of the Top 4.

Guess there's just half a chance that he effectively saying to the Arsenal board, he needs more investment...

T'other thing is that if a player really wants to go, there isn't much point keeping them.

I need to do more research on Arsenal's finances. Is the stadium what is causing the problem? They spend less on wages or transfer fees than any of the other Big 4, and still have the Champions League money.

The whole shares situation at Arsenal seems to be an issue and I think its unclear who has financial control there.

Since Dein left its been a bit of a mess.

Indeed - Toure handed in a transfer request a while ago - then withdrew it - it is most widely believed amongst Gooners that Toure and Gallas don't get on - and Toure had simply had enough of Gallas. Now it seems Gallas isn't going anywhere - then Toure has simply had enough..

I reckon Toure will be a BIG loss to Arsenal - I may be wrong - but isn't he the last of the "Invincibles"? - and the closest thing they have to solid experience unless you count Gallas - who, let's face it - can be a bit of a fruit cake...

Its all relative, but personally I think Toure is a pretty shite defender myself for a club with top 4 aspirations.

Gallas is top class though, despite being an arse!

Fully fit, I'd rather have Arsenal's team than Man City's.

I read somewhere that the housing slump has greatly affected the returns they expected from Highbury, in order to finance their new stadium.

I'd only agree because Arsenals is a team, whereas City are a collection of individuals

I prefer the collection of indivuals City will have by the end of August

It just seems to me people are desperately trying to convince themselves City are not going to be a serious big hitter

Their threat was confirmed to me when Ferguson had his dig

I a couple friends who are Arsenal supporters and both said they would be more than happy to dump 2 players this off season. Well City picked up both of those players. I think Toure, at least the past couple seasons is highly over rated.

IMO he's getting rattled a bit now by City, anytime soon expect the Spanish Waiter to jump in!!!

Maybe, but selling him still puts a lot of pressure on Vermaelen to perform immediately and a lot of pressure on Gallas to not have a nervous breakdown. Behind them you've got Silvestre and Senderos . . . certainly not players you'll win the league with. Might not even be good enough for top 4.
