Had we been coming back tomorrow England would have to finish Aus off and then chase somewhere near 300. Brilliant batting from them today, and some horrible one dimensional bowling from Mr Broad and Mr Flintoff and one dimensional captaincy from Strauss. Never mind - with the Oval being the bowler's graveyard that it is, it seems to be all on the Headingly test. Roll on Friday!
Yeah I'm not in the we were robbed camp on this one...

We'd certainly have been chasing a significant total on the last day.

That West Stand at Headingley is hugely rowdy, great day out.

went there once in the 80s when we were playing west indies and getting the traditional toasting of those years... that west stand, when pissed, had more racists than a national front meeting... i never went again...

the abuse was routinely dealt with by an innings victory by the 'racial inferiors' ...

West Stand was mental for the Lancs 20/20 I went to this year, about 12 pitch invasions, brawls about beer snakes (when the inevitable happened). Hope its a good atmosphere rather than stupid.

Went when played the Windies the other year, don't recall any racism, but when I was there a beer snake was described thus on the BBC text
1734 - WI 137-8: Huge cheers in the stands as two separate pint pot snakes come together in glorious unison to form one enormo behemoth. There's a third snake working its way round too - if that joins up too, we'll have one about 50 metres long. Yup - there it is...
It's all fun and games, and at £3 a pint pot I'm sure Yorkshire CCC weren't too worried. Was all good natured, didn't see any scraps.

I think you have to bear in mind the general Yorkshire mentality too. They didn't allow anyone born outside Yorkshire to play cricket for them until 1992. (Although I think a couple slipped through the net over the years)...

and now Matt Prior has hobbled off with a back injury - Collingwood has the gloves at the moment... (catching practice)

Collingwood

Wow, that is one weak batting line-up. And I still break out in a cold sweat any time I see Stuart Clark after '07.

Interesting they didn't pick Lee.

Broad is in because he can bat a bit and for no other reason.

Looks like it could depend on who can bat the least shit. And that means we're fooked!

What a shambles for a start.

Six batsmen - two abysmally out of form, an inconsistent Cook, Brigadier Block, a crippled wicketkeeper and then the Captain.

Who the feck picked that?

On the upside, we've got better bowlers and so should take wickets. Happen it'll be too late if we're 200 AO.
