A kid punched a balloon onto the field, for feck* sake. Have you seen how many carrier bags and other such items of shite blow across the pitch at the Reebok on a breezey day? Does all of this detritus find its own way there?H. Pedersen wrote:I would guess the club told him not to call attention to yet more disgraceful behavior from the Liverpool fans.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

There must be a counting thing going on here that I don't know about!bobo the clown wrote:Yer bastard, Bruce .... The beach ball was asleep in bed at the time of the incident.KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:1,000 replies can't be wrong - he's a prick.
I've heard the beach ball has been visited by the Shields family. Something about a trip to Bulgaria....
Jack Straw says that the beach ball is "morally and technically innocent".
Least it's cleared up now.

I think that's disgraceful too. I was watching the Spurs game with my friends and they were all stunned at the crap on the pitch. Treat your team and your stadium with some respect, geez.Bruce Rioja wrote:A kid punched a balloon onto the field, for feck sake. Agreed, entirely. But I'm amazed that just before k-o and at half-time someone doesn't get our ball-boys to do a quick pick-up of the shite that's blowing around.H. It may be the fault of the idle gits who throw it away, but once it's there the fans can't exactly come pitch-side to pick it up. Mind you, we do appear to have the worlds most useless ball-boys.
Meanwhile, back to Rafa ... bit of a knob, don't you think ?

Think you do him a bit of a disservice there, bobo the clown. "Prick" seems more apt.bobo the clown wrote:Agreed, entirely. Big lot of fuss about nothing - the ball was batted on in the warm up, Reina grabbed it and threw it in his net, the wind blew it back onto the pitch and they scored. We had 90+ minutes after that to mount an effective performance and pretty much failed. If it had happened in the 94th rather than the 4th minute then my opinion may be slightly different, however! Not an ideal start to the game, but it's just a freak occurrence and we should have been better than we were in trying to redress the balance.
Interesting point of note - I'd like to see what the referee puts in his report. I'm sure he'll fudge it and say that he thought Johnson deflected it and try and worm out of it that way. I think the fact that he spoke to his linesman means that he saw it, or was at least told about it and checked with the linesman. If he's failed in applying a basic rule then he can expect some sort of disciplinary action.

Did the referee from the Sheff Utd v Man City cup game of last year get any disciplinary action against him?blurred wrote:Big lot of fuss about nothing - the ball was batted on in the warm up, Reina grabbed it and threw it in his net, the wind blew it back onto the pitch and they scored. Irrelevant, this decision was detrimental to a top 4 club (or used to be). As you should know there is another set of rules for those clubs.boltonboris wrote:Did the referee from the Sheff Utd v Man City cup game of last year get any disciplinary action against him?blurred wrote:Big lot of fuss about nothing - the ball was batted on in the warm up, Reina grabbed it and threw it in his net, the wind blew it back onto the pitch and they scored. Saw a lot of the Lyon fans wandering round Liverpool today, looking distinctly unimpressed.
Glad they're going home with a smile on their faces.
