Had a text off our lass earlier asking what I wanted for tea, I replied saying summat like ill just have a powdered egg tonight as I have some special ops to initialize with taskforce 141, we need to oppress the Russian advances….

she replied saying, "theres a red light on the xbox and it wont go out?"

I replied, “get the fukk off it and pull the plug!”

She replied, “don’t shout at me just wanted to play fable, all the lights have gone red”

I replied, “PULL THE FUKKING PLUG”

She just text back “ haha, only joking”

what a bastard! Cant believe she even knew about the red ring!? She’ll know about broken jaws when I get home n’all… My soul was crushed, I phoned my old man straight away asking if I could borrow my little bro's xbox this week, and had spent 20mins reading the ring of death spiel on google!!!

This airport scene sounds like it's worth £40 alone, can you kill the check in staff?

You can shoot anyone you like, it's rather satisfying in a Daily-Mail-outrageous kind of way. The sort of thing that only fannies and charlies get up in arms about, it's a load of nothing really.

Gotta love the daily mash.

NEW 'CALL OF DUTY' TO INCLUDE SIX MONTHS IN HELMAND
11-11-09
THOUSANDS of computer game fans were last night surprised to learn the new Call Of Duty includes a legally-binding pledge to fight in Afghanistan.

You can't pause this one to go for a piss

Following a deal between producers Activision and the Ministry of Defence the user agreement required to install the game commits the purchaser to a six month tour of duty in Helmand province, complete with real flying heads.

Last night unsuspecting fans queued outside shops across Britain to buy the game which looks set to swell the ranks of the army to over a million terrified, constantly urinating troops.

Xbox owner Charlie Reeves said: "I was looking forward to pretending to crawl through the jungle killing hundreds of computer-generated brown people when a sergeant major kicked down my door and dragged me off to the nearest barracks."

He added: "I should have bought FIFA10 instead."

Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth said: "This is a neat solution to the twin problems of youth unemployment and a lack of people willing to be killed overseas for no reason.

"Video game fans think that war is all about beating end-of-level baddies, which in this instance would be Bin Laden. I feel that three years wiping away their tears of terror with their own shit-stained underwear will soon disabuse them of this notion."

US copies of the game do not contain the agreement, as officials believe the current policy of promising inner-city teenagers parachute jumps and feeding photogenically hungry children is working just fine.

A Pentagon spokesman said: "For many of them, beating civilian prisoners to death and pissing on their heads is, essentially, a bonus level."

What a load of bollocks! It's "daily mail" because it's nasty?

Again, I disagree.

Not for me. This doesn't come CLOSE to Uncharted 2 for me, not even close.

It's a game, far more scary things happening IN THE REAL WORLD than to worry about a game.

As for Uncharted 2, you're dead on.

Really? Wow!

Guess I'm a "mongtard" though for thinking about it any more deeply.

Excuse me, I need to go and read the Daily Mail whilst shouting at dark skinned people.

Well in 4 days time (at the time of posting!) Dragon Age: Origins will be released.

I am looking forward to this :D

Wikipedia article:

Yeah it was on my list. I'm excited about it. Just picked up GTA IV finally, so I might be slow in picking Dragon Age up. I loved Baldur's Gate and the Norrath series.
hmmm thought Norrath was Everquest?
It was but they had 2 really cool PS2 games from the company that did the original Baldur's Gate on PS2.
Okies, bought DragonAge yesterday. Wasn't what I went out to buy. One of the other threads had convinced me to trade in last year's FM incarnation along with some other stuff to get this years FM, but along with CoD6 - MW2, it was sold out, and I'm convinced MW2 is just a figment of people's imagination - mate of mine down the road has been trying to get it every day since release...

I liked the BG series (for PC, didn't play the PS2 ones). Good storylines and masses of things to do with a huge amount of gameplay. Then came NWN and NWN2, at which point I have to say I was disappointed. Yes they'd gone 3D and First Person, but, the complexity for me was lost. Plot lines were thinner and dungeons seemed to be easier.

This game looks to have gone some way to rectifying this and so far, I have to say I'm impressed, although playing it on "normal" difficulty seems to make it fairly easy. Looks like lots to do in the game, so probably worth shelling out on.

I'm with Bruno here. Its a game. People take things too seriously. Ultimately shooting pixels that look like soldiers is not very far removed from shooting pixels that look like "civilians".

Don't see how it is any more "offensive" or upsetting than say the GTA games!

I've had around seven hours game time on this so far and its just beginning to get interesting. There's still far too much standing around watching the cut scenes for my liking and not enough time spent actually doing stuff but its starting to look like a good game. Not a clue what's really going on like and I must get around to reading the flippin manual but its starting to get me hooked.

Oh, and even on normal diff it does toughen up and my party has been killed off a couple of times.

And as an aside, Amazon UK came through good style for me on this. The original game was received last Saturday and first time in the xbox it never played. I used their return system and the replacement was with me on Monday morning. Excellent service from them as always.
