If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

finishing my section for the paper and leaving it pristine, and turning up this morning to see they've made an abomination of one of my pages.

There's your problem.
I moved out of London earlier this year, for the very reason I think you are alluding to. Can't bloody win :(

How inept people who work in Human Resources can be!

They are more than willing to waste 5 days of my year on meetings about psycometric testing, but less than willing to complete simple medial tasks which actually have significance to the work place.

feck HR THEY ARE SPOILING MY FRIDAY!

Parents who think the long term development of their child's footballing ability is going to be helped by telling their our year old son "I'll give you a PSP/skateboard if you score a goal", thereby throwing down the toilet all the technical points the coach has spent the best part of ten weeks teaching.

.... except, in your example, the kids natural ability has already been fckd up by 10 weeks of coaching for a skill which should, at that age, be left alone.

What access do you have to my coaching plan?

I mean, there's sense in what you've said, but there's a massive assumption to say that teaching them skills should be left alone at that age. It's the way they're taught that's the most important at 4-6 years old. No drills, no exercises, lots of roleplay and some Q&A at the end. Concentrate on the fundaental of the game - controlling the ball, kicking the ball into a certain area (goal, part of the pitch, etc). You'll be surprised at how much they pick up at that age. So, to be told that they're being bribed if they disregard all of that in order to push their mates out of the way so they can score a goal is more than a little disconcerting. And the future messages this sends doesn't sit well with me at all. Matches for children should be learning experiences, not a means to compare scores.

Today I'm angry about referees who, 90 minutes before kick off, can see that a football cannot move on a waterlogged pitch, still declare a dangerous pitch playable. Then, during a warm up which sees players and coaches get absolutely drenched from head to foot from torrential rain that had been falling from 10 in the morning, decided to call off a match 20 minutes before kick-off, thus inconveniencing 200 people who had just had to battle through traffic jams and dangerous road conditions to get to a football match that could quite easily have been called off when he'd turned up to the fecking place at 1.30.

Tomorrow I'll be angry about someone on a forum who, after reading this, will claim that I'm in the wrong for complaining about it.

That made me chuckle, superjohnmcginlay, as it brought back to mind an incident I witnessed some 35 years ago. At the time I was working in a branch of the bank that employed me and which was situated in the Sydney commercial centre. The branch in question was located on the corner of two busy streets. Next door to us was the main fire station for the city. One fine day someone must have flicked a still hot fag end into a rubbish bin situated in the cross street. What did the brave boys do? They donned their gear, fired up one of the tankers and hurtled out into the roadway, siren blaring, turned sharp left into a one-way street, leapt off the appliance and extinguished the towering inferno. Total distance covered? Less than 50 metres.

One man with one hand held extinguisher (or a jug of water) would have doused the smouldering mess and been back in the station's kitchen having a well earned cup of tea before the contingent of cowboys had even got the motor running. I wasn't angry (why would I be, I found it amusing) but it did leave me scratching my thinning locks. :D

I'm sure you do a sensible & well intentioned version of it, but teaching kids football at 4 to 6 years of age ? We'll have to agree to disagree as I cannot wrap my head around that.

Fair enough. I was initially reluctant to start it when the school I work with suggested it, but after the first session with four and five year olds, I could see some benefit towards it. As you identify, it's like no other coaching, and you can't stamp any authority onto it otherwise you would kill the sessions, kill the kid's enjoyment of it and stunt their ability to do anything. Creativity, patience and confidence are the only things I ever take into those sessions.

bollock all....A hard earned 2-1 win over economics, followed by a top night out. The only downer on the day involving me having to come off after f*cking up my calf muscles 20 minutes from the end. Still, forza MoLES! :D

Why?

Do you think she is fit to be a mother?

Do you honestly think she gave a monkeys about her kids when she selfishly set off in search of her own self satisfaction?

Why did she not ask the grandma and Pa to babysit in the first place?

I know you are all for giving people a chance William but really would you put 4 kids lives at risk by ever letting her have any responsabilty for them again?
Talk to any mother, most would have her hung drawn and quatered for what she did.
Just as an aside a pal of the other halfs comented she should be sterilised to stop her having any more.

Hoboh whilst she may be a "waste of space" (though we don't really know do we either way?) she is still their mother, and I imagine those kids will still love her.

It would seem incredibly harsh to say "thats it you are never seeing them again" and may indeed do further damage to the children than is necessary.

She's a lousy mother, and should be forbidden custody of her children until she demonstrates clearly that she is a capable and caring one.

That is what is happening.

The visits are supervised.

But they should continue, for the children's sake, who, BWFCI is right, will want to see their mum.

and also for her sake, because this might provide an incentive for her to clean up...
