Without wanting to be smoked out as a closet Rag, like I care seeing as I coach the manager's grandchildren, Keane was fecking amazing in the second leg of the 1999 Champions League Semi against Juventus. It was a decade ago, but you did ask for something, anything, after all....Bruce Rioja wrote:Were you at our place when Okocha started playing keepy-uppy all around and over him? He decided to try and take Okocha out at the waist but was even found wanting in that department. When playing under Brian Clough the yes, he showed brilliance, but show me something, anything, remarkable that he did whilst playing for the Trafford Rags?!mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Yep.bobo the clown wrote:No defender of the tw@t from Cork, but I can't agree there. As a manager however, I feel you are being unfair to Ian Branfoot. Keane is psychologically unfit to manage people. You can't imagine what it must be like to work for the bloke with every error, every moment, simply waiting for him to tear you a new one. No-one could give him their best as they'd alays be scared of making a mistake.

That Champions League semi final is the thing I will concede to my rag supporting mates. He was a leviathan in that game. Which takes some balls, considering he was suspended for the final. He's a tw*t of the hightest order, but he has my respect. Doesn't mean he's not a tw*t.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

And one game doth a legend make?
I just remember him as being a dirty, shouty tosser. I'm more inclined to remember watching him playing for Celtic when they were losing in the cup against some or other rubbing rags. They took him off before he upset anyone else.

May the bridges I burn light your way
It was Clyde, his first match, he had a shcoker, they lost 2-0, but it should easily have been 4.Bruce Rioja wrote:And one game doth a legend make?

You asked for something, anything, remarkable. I offered it. Don't shoot the messenger.Bruce Rioja wrote:And one game doth a legend make?

He also mentioned one split-second incident involving Okocha to support his point of view, but now complains when others use 90 minutes to support theirs!KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:You asked for something, anything, remarkable. Firstly, I'm not complaining about anything and, secondly, I used the game against Clyde also.mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote: He also mentioned one split-second incident involving Okocha to support his point of view, but now complains when others use 90 minutes to support theirs!

My French chum said 'comme en vrai' when he played it. But then he's probably a cheat.

The Irish fans have probably moved on from anger to resignation now, I guess, although it's all gonna be come flooding back in June. Still, there is come small crumb of consolation to be taken in the fact that while Uefa robbed them in this match, French fans are robbed by the EU constantly. Check out this comparison of betting odds on this match as a result of gambling monopolies. http://bit.ly/1iAoxj Absolutely shocking rip off, petitioning for an open gambling market across Europe is only fair.
