I saw him on his Mum Wants a Bungalow tour, in which I thought that he was very good, but I asked at the time - Where does he go from here in terms of his stand up act? His material was largely based upon his own memories of growing up and the audiences we-thought-that-that-only-happened-in-our-house factor. It'll be interesting to learn what he comes out with this time, but not interesting enough to have me hanging on the phone all morning.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Mrs duk wanted to get tickets, but personally I dont find him funny.
I liked Phoenix Nights, but that was co wrote with Dave Spikey, who I think is funnier but doesnt get the media coverage.
Max and Paddy was dire.
Before anyone accuses me of being a miserable so and so, me and Mrs duk will be found at the Comedy Club on the 4th Dec at Bolton Arena.
I am prepared to give anyone a chance tomake me laugh, and Peter Kay failed.

He's funny. But Max and Paddy was sh*t. Apart from Willy W*nker and his chocolate factory. One joke doesn't make a series, though.davroduk wrote:Mrs duk wanted to get tickets, but personally I dont find him funny.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I disagree. Never had I used the term "shaking like a shitting dog" before I heard it in the last episode. And the episode where they were in the woods was pretty good.ntooLord Kangana wrote:He's funny. But Max and Paddy was sh*t. Apart from Willy W*nker and his chocolate factory. £40! Is it football's fault that live entertainment prices have gone through the roof these days?

And by that you obviously mean: "Is it football that has altered people's expectations and shifted the demand curve?"...Athers wrote:£40! Is it football's fault that live entertainment prices have gone through the roof these days?

when he tips that liquid ice cream over that womans head! one of the funniest things id ever seen! has been done to death now though, it must appear on 3 of his dvd's? i think thats his trouble, he milks everything to death and folk get sick of him! hes been out of the limelight for a couple of years and now there is renewed interest. and im on the badwaggon too, for now at least. He was brilliant on this morning the other day (missus taped it) and the children in need video is pure class!superjohnmcginlay wrote:Sheltered life.KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:I disagree. give it a couple of weeks and he'll be doing my head in again, mind you - hardly needs to do any more plugging for his tour, so we might not see much of him untill the dvd is out!

I registered, got online at 8am on Saturday, got tickets immediately......cancelled the purchase once I saw the £38 ticket price! Saw him live 8 years ago so I don't need to watch him again. Same jokes and definitely not worth £38!
