They're fecking stupid at that club. Not as stupid as when they got rid of sven, but still stupid. One only has to look over at the West side of Manchester as to why you should let someone stick it out and give them a chance.

The thought crossed my mind, but if you can't build a defence from £200m...

Can't see it to be honest. Had Megson not managed a point against City and our annual home win against West Ham then maybe.

Turned the Welsh into a decent-ish side, The Dingles were hard to beat under him. He didn't know what to do with the mony when he had it. He woks better with little or no money to spend, his ethos is teamwork and that hasn't gone too well for a team full of ego. I wouldn't mind him at Wanderers but I'm prepared to see what happens with Megson.
Pfffft.

But surprisingly Green is not the best of friends with Sam Allardyce.

Hughes did badly with all the money he had. And I always thought he would. He will build strong teams with good players but the super-egos will puzzle and frustrate him.

Shame really, he would have made it work eventually. You could almost tell they wanted some 'sexy' European manager to come in sooner or later.

I'm surprised he lasted this long. Don't believe all the buys were his. I am sure there was pressure to buy personalities and also try to upset the established top 4 clubs by trying to raid their players or get players they wanted. Really never thought he had a chance from the set go.

Meh was always gonna happen. No way were some signings his, hence once he knows he is being sacked Adebayor is f*cked off and Santa Cruz comes in. Manicini will fail. What more they want I do not know. Too much football manager instant success.

This football blog about Hughes' sacking makes an interesting point - that he shouldn't have been left in charge at the start of this season as he was always on borrowed time. You could argue that it would have been wrong to sack him then too, but he was never going to get through the season was he? (Unless he ran away with the league that is...) Still, if you read the quotes from Hughes it looks like he was on track to meet agreed targets... Wonder if there could be a court case in this sacking...

I doubt it. They still have to pay him for his contract, right? It's not like Curbishley, who decided to walk and therefore had to claim constructive dismissal to get paid.

Yeah he's just going to get paid the remainder of his contract.

They have that sort of money spare, so doubt they would have any qualms about handing it over.

I reckon Hughes would be a good manager for us, although I can't see it happening.

I know. It's frustrating as hell. Although he might have bigger plans intended for himself, it looks like a perfect match for Hughes and ourselves but it ain't going to happen.
