Today I'm angry about.....

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

today I have had to think quite hard about what to be angry about - as it is a gorgeous sunny crisp frosty winters morning... I have got tons of work to do - but - what the heck - I think I have enough time...

anyway - I have decided I am angry today about angels - the cutesy popular depiction of girly angels - blond rosy-cheeked wimpy looking cutesy angels....

Angels in the christmas story are scary characters - grown up and mistaken for men - when people saw them they were terrified - "sore afraid".. so - ENOUGH ALREADY - let's scare the kids with some proper fiery sword-wielding scary angels - like it should be...

I think if I look hard enough in the back of the cupboard I may even find an olive branch in there.

here's a cartoon to describe me and cheer everyone up...

Does this mean we can all come out of the trenches and have a game of football for Christmas before hostilities resume on Boxing Day? ;-)

I'm slightly miffed that the snow cloud appears to be timed to be above our car as it sallies up the M40/M6 this evening.

But slightly miffed's as strong as it gets, because I've borrowed a Rickenbacker 12-string and am about to have a twang.

So you've not got the blues ... more the azures ?

Can white men play the azures ??
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

that's very helpful Crazy - and it is a long way down yet from the moral high-ground  I have my support tights on so a thrombosis is hopefully unlikely...

You are right to point out that WtW's post - to which you responded - was part of an ongoing discussion and that his views were spread across that discussion - so I apologise for my error in suggesting that his views were clearly in the actual post you chose to quote.

the point remains, though, that WtW has NOT glossed over victims rights at all and it was well wide of the mark to suggest or claim he did. A short way of saying this would be to say you were wrong and did him an injustice (and this is quite a good smokescreen.) Why do I care? He can defend himself more ably and graciously than I have - after all! I care because your response was a very poor and factually incorrect response to a quite carefully considered and nuanced argument - and I didn't think he deserved to be dismissed in that way.

It isn't always possible to read an entire thread - i don't always - but if you are going to wade into a thread on a sensitive issue with some complex arguments in it - and make accusations about one of the contributors - then it is at least courteous to check back what he has said before wading in...

if that sounds like more moral high ground - all well and good.
Who was it, bish, that offered the apercu that 'God is infintely merciful, but only to good people'?

Just got my bi-annual letter of demand in the post from HM Revenue & Customs for my half yearly tax bill. Those merry old souls always make sure it arrives just in time for Christmas. As I opened the envelope and withdrew the form it sliced into my hand drawing blood. They're not satisfied with just money now.

Eeh, there's nothing worse than a paper cut!

Watching Charlie Brooker's screenwipe of the year; on it there is a piece on Noel's HQ, essentially Noel Edmunds setting the world to rights, a programme I'd never had the misfortune of seeing. He makes us all on this thread look tame and happy as he goes on bizarre Daily Mail broken Britain rants, all this on a Saturday night entertainment show. He is a weird, weird fellow. He ACTUALLY believes all that cosmic ordering shiite. That you write a list to the cosmos and stuff happens, this is combined with his weird bloody bureaucracy gone mad, can't believe it, common sense died a death to make the weirdest show ever. He wants sectioning, not being given airtime.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Hobo (sorry mate, hobinho aint catching on for me) you massive hippy :D

The first one is a bit of a weird argument. Nature isn't the law (i can't be miethered with natural law atm). Laws are, by definition, man made. If nature was the law, then we'd all end up killing each other.

The second one is pretty funny too. The idea that some junkie in Glasgow, desperately trying to pierce one of the few remaining veins in his forearm, shoots up, rolls over and then reveals with breathtaking insight how lucky he is not to be a drinker or a smoker. Not that i'm saying alocholism and nicotine addiction are good things, but it's a hypocritical argument to say the least.
