If you're outside you could use a proxy of some sort I imagine.

cheers for that. the link that took me to bbc iplayer was giving the old "contractual obligations" spiel

wonder how biased the commentator will be

I've never tried it but a Proxies FAQ for different browsers it here:

http://uk.ispconf.com/faq.html

I presume you just follow the instructions for your browser and enter one of the IP addresses and port numbers that were in the previous link. Then when you're done listening remember to change the settings back to what they were before you started.
