Weiss just looks shite though.Hobinho wrote:And in those 6 games he's hardly had any playing time, Bang on Tom I agree with all you are saying there.Tombwfc wrote:In fairness, it's been 6 games since Weiss signed, and less for the other two. To say it's slightly early to be writing them all off as lightweight shirkers is something of an understatement. We're not blessed with time, but we can't expect miracles either. Djorkaeff and Bobic didn't exactly hit the ground running either.BWFC_Insane wrote:Do you think if we'd hired, Mark Hughes, Sam Allardyce, Alan Curbishley that we'd have signed Weiss, Wilshere and Holden?
Cos I don't. Either Coyle lied or he did have money.
Now even assuming we didn't, was there no chance of signing a more experienced/physical player on loan? And given he signed those three whats the point when he clearly thinks they're not good enough/ready yet?
We supposedly were signing Guti until Megson left, now would that not have potentially been a better loan? Someone with some top level experience? Not saying he'd have been ideal and probably wouldn't have been on my list, but the three we got I knew wouldn't cut it in a relegation battle, it was obvious, and thats why they're not playing now according to Dearden.
Question is why did Coyle not realise this?
Generally, I think if managers have cash, they spend it. Coyle risked so much upping sticks and coming here that I don't think there's a chance he'd be so assured of our safety that he just wouldn't bother spending his huge pile of cash. So no, I don't actually think there was any money there.
I'm well and truly in the what the hell they here for if they're not going to play a bigger part camp? Got to be better than Megsons Shire horses!!!
Step-over after step-over and no end product.
We're losing 1-0 at Blackburn having our best spell and he takes two feckin short corners and fails to get the ball in the box.
I've no time for that, no time at all!
Weiss looks like he has the attitude of the best kid in a school team, where he has the ability to beat everyone and score. That may be the case at academy level matey, but this is the Premier League. We can't afford to watch him beat 1, beat 2 and then run into a third over and over until he learns. Weiss will be no use to us, Wilshere I feel should have another go after the City game.BWFC_Insane wrote:Weiss just looks shite though.Hobinho wrote:And in those 6 games he's hardly had any playing time, Bang on Tom I agree with all you are saying there.Tombwfc wrote:In fairness, it's been 6 games since Weiss signed, and less for the other two. Thats down to the coach and manager in training surely? If he does not learn and has skill a certain amount of blame must lay there, not forgetting the player has to have the right attitude of course.jimbo wrote:Weiss looks like he has the attitude of the best kid in a school team, where he has the ability to beat everyone and score. I don't care for 4-4-2. The only midfielders who are defensively solid enough to play with Muamba in that system are Davis (injured) and McCann (limited). Davies and Elmander are both players who primarily look to create for others, and since neither is much good in front of goal lately, whatever they create goes to waste in a 4-4-2. And that's apart from the lingering suspicion that Elmander won't ever make it in this league.
I'd rather go with 4-5-1. Either play Klanic up top and have Lee, M. Davies, Weiss and/or Wilshere feeding him, or play K. Davies up top and have Cohen and Lee attempting to get onto his flicks.

Weiss has played just about 90 minutes of football for us, all from the bench. Yes he was shite against Wigan, and not much better against Blackburn (but then, no-one was), but do I really have to list the amount of players who've started off shite before coming good? It's certainly a longer list than those who've signed for a team in January, and in a matter of days single handedly dragged them up the table.
Singling him out for having no end product in a team that hasn't scored for five games is also somewhat harsh.

It felt as though we had our concerns about this 4-4-2 a couple years back so I had a look at my past posts. Nothing has changed it seems.
