So.. it DID bore you - full stop - no question mark!General Mannerheim wrote:haha, i detest folk who talk like that! southerners mainly.thebish wrote:General Mannerheim wrote:
i know - i can appreciate its a good film, brilliant acting and has an important message - but it just bored me?
C'mon man - either it did or it didn't! Please don't tell me you speak with an upward inflection at the end of every sentence.
but did or didnt what? - it started off alright, thought he's a good actor, thought this interrogation scene is interesting, thought that official was a bastard... but as it went on i became dozy, and i tried more than once, and i did finish it eventually, but i was glad when i had, because it was boring.

Exactly, it's ridiculous, but very cool, and very fun.General Mannerheim wrote:Wanted has been mentioned earlier in the thread - it is one of the most ridiculous films ever, but still somehow strangely enjoyable!? incredibly violent too - gotta love the human shield!

Oh nice one, Buddie. I really should save myself from buying these things by (i) Watching TV when they're on, or (ii) setting the jaberwocky for when I'm not around.Worthy4England wrote:Any "TV Series" watchers, there seems to be a big sale of box sets on hmv.com.
Looks like some good savings (up to 80%) on some...

May the bridges I burn light your way

Rhys Darby - Live Imagine That
absolutely hilarious! which is strange because ive tried watching it before and it didnt really tickle me at all - just watched it now and laughed my head off all the way through.
btw - Murray Hewitt is one of the best comedy characters ever imo!!! but you dont have to have seen the Conchords to enjoy this!

Tonight was an evening of Spanish/Latino short films at the Cornerhouse, part of the annual VIVA! festival - now in its 16th year... (www.vivafilmfestival.com). Terribly disappointing. One amusing, four bordering on dire. Ponderous, predictable, low on humour. Everything a good short should not be!
But the features look promising (though, even there, not as promising as usual - maybe the crunch has hit hispanic movie making?)...

They do at the pictures i went to in Leicester Square tonight!
Saw 'Crazy Heart' fantastic film, really enjoyed it - and Bridges well deserving of his Oscar imo. it'd have been a travesty if some of the other nominee's had won over him, well the ones ive seen(Clooney and Renner) anyway.
also loved the shot where he is at the bar in the bowling alley - nice little Lebowski homage!

for anyone passing through oxford - my face cinema's were the Penultimate Picture Palace and Not the Moulin Rouge - both showing trendy arty studenty stuff and being as far from the multiplex bucket-of-popcorn experience as you can imagine! (not a pair of 3d specs in sight..)
incidentally..
why is it deemed normal and acceptable for a child to be able to consume a whole bucket of popcorn with 5 gallons of coke?

really enjoyed the film last night but someone at work just asked me what it is about. as i was explaining, it occured to me its exactly the same story as 'The Wrestler' just with different circumstance.General Mannerheim wrote:They do at the pictures i went to in Leicester Square tonight!
