He's done as well as can be expected on the pitch. But we - from the outside looking in - don't know the full story. The Tigers' fans aren't keen and there's whispers (as there have been for some time) of dressing room unrest, in-fighting and his duffing of Duffens daughter.Prufrock wrote:So we should have sacked Allardyce at this stage in our second season then? He got a team of shite promoted, and kept a team of shite up. He's not set the world alight, but he's done allright there!H. Pedersen wrote:The table says otherwise.BWFC_Insane wrote:Its very odd. Hull were good against Arsenal on Saturday and fought like trojans. Didn't look like a side "not playing for their manager".
Never been a huge Brown fan but feel sorry for him here, he certainly didn't deserve that in the heat of battle.
Or maybe it's a case of success breeds over-expectancy

More than possible it's off the pitch stuff, my point was merely to point out that HP's assertation that 'the table says otherwise' was bollocks.boltonboris wrote:He's done as well as can be expected on the pitch. Indeed, but what else do you expect?Prufrock wrote:More than possible it's off the pitch stuff, my point was merely to point out that HP's assertation that 'the table says otherwise' was bollocks.boltonboris wrote:He's done as well as can be expected on the pitch. That'd make sense. I think his number was up the day they changed chairman meself, sounds like a case of giving enough rope to hang withCAPSLOCK wrote:Maybe this allows 'investigations to continue'
Maybe they have no grounds for dismissal, yet
If theyre getting served with legal papers to prevent him talking to that 19 year old, something serious may have happened
Allegations of bullying?

But wasn't Pearson the bloke who hired him for Hull in the first place?hisroyalgingerness wrote:That'd make sense. I think his number was up the day they changed chairman meself, sounds like a case of giving enough rope to hang withCAPSLOCK wrote:Maybe this allows 'investigations to continue'

Rumours in Hull of Brown having affair/s with members of the back office in the club!

I can't understand why there seems to be some ill feeling on this board against Browny.
He gave us sterling service as a player, captain, assistant and caretaker manager.
He takes a pub team to the Premier League and survives in his first season against the odds, is still in the mix for a late escape this season, and have just been beaten by an injury time winner by Arsenal. Then he is sacked.
Maybe there was something going on behind the scenes, but to me Phil Brown will always be a Wanderers legend.

Spot on there....he says in this interview the highlight of his career was going up the Wembley steps when he played for Bolton Wanderers..
No-one can deny he is a man of great character, i for one, hope he bounces back.

Never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.
Good intervew that I enjoyed it. Wish the lad well but not at Bolton.Alien3 wrote:tony cunninghams willy wrote:I can't understand why there seems to be some ill feeling on this board against Browny.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

This seems terribly bad timing. It would be difficult for any manager to make a difference in 9 games, never mind an emergency appointment managing a squad that is inferior to most Prem teams, even when at its best, and one that is playing under relegation pressure.
Personally I would have sacked Brown for singing on the pitch at the end of last season, but now it has got to this stage it must be pretty desperate to get rid of him now.
Megson is favourite to succeed him by the way.

I like Browny. He improved immeasurably under Rioch, when he and Lee formed a good partnership down that right side. As Sams assistant, we had some of the best years we've had in, well, years. And he clearly really loves the club.
Lets put it this way, he's waaaaay higher up the christmas card list than the ginger assassin.'
