Duck is a really tasty meat, definitely not at its best in the crispy Chinese form, but I'm not a fan of a l'orange either. I grilled a duck breast a couple of weeks back - for sauce I just took a spoonfull of cranberry sauce, glass of red wine and the juice of an orange knocked up in a pan and heated until it thickens up a bit. Slendid stuff. With the duck - butterbean mash and green beans.

haha, nah just for ease really. I go to the supermarket on Monday after work,, buy enough bread & ham or whatever for 4 days worth of butties, and 4 tubs of that fresh soup. few beers and the compulsory bar of Green & Blacks. Then i go the squash club. I get in about 10/10.30, have a beer & some soup then bed. Siiimples. Repeat for tues, wed, & thurs. Then Friday i get momas home made cookin! On the basis of this i went to asda, to find no sign of the crozes hermitage on the 3 quid shelf or the french red shelf... shame... but the spanish red i did find was pretty good, a carmenere, and, at that price, a nod in... steak and kidney pie kept it company, with new potatoes and purple broccoli... I'm off to London this morning for a long weekend away.
Friday evening at the Royal Albert Hall and then Saturday evening in The Dining Room at Jamie Olivers place, Fifteen. We booked this back in December and even then there were only two tables free for this night!
I'm told the thing to do is have the five course tasting menu plus the optional wine package which will set me back £100 each. Best be good!

Gammon, pineaple, chips and peas. With a '97 Rioja Grand Reserva. And then a 2004 Reserva. Both Berberana. I have to be up early aswell. On balance, f*ck it, its worth it.

That a shame because it wasn't half bad. I did a double take when I saw and would have bought more but was au pied at the time and have got another fecked rib (I'm made out of the same stuff as cheese straws apparently) so I just got the one. Sampling a Lidl Salice Salentino at the moment. Pretty good - better than their usual crap.
As for fruit and meat together - no, no, no! It's neither big nor clever.
