Burnley in Europa next season!

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Burnley in Europa next season!

Post by klasnic17 » Sun Apr 18, 2010 3:47 pm

my understanding is that if fulham win the europa league then burnley qualify for it through the fair play standings. is this correct? And what are your views on this?

The latest ranking published had England third at the end of December, but I'm half sure they update them at the end of April.

We probably want Fulham to win in the Europa after having 3 players sent off, just to make it interesting.

I hope that they don't try dusting Burnley's trophy cabinet off for this fair play award, or else we'll be closing all the European Airports again! :?

What about if Liverpool win it?

Or Portsmouth win the FA cup and have their appeal for a UEFA licence accepted?

Christ this Europa League thing is confusing.

Not as confusing as the fair play table itself though. Take a look at it.

How on earth are Arsenal top? What the F is "positive play"? Who judges things like respect towards opponent and respect towards referee?

I'll be hoping for some positive play from Villa in the coming weeks...

I suspect they will campaign to be entered into the Champions League... at the semi final stage.

Not sure you've got that right - isn't that column a points total, which is higher if you haven't had cards which knock points off the ten points per game maximum?
