With the price of petrol, the window is the smarter option.

It's a bit of a no-win situation, I agree, and the house on one side being rented doesn't help. Sadly this is happening more and more in a once fine residential area. House prices today are killing folk off buying. Maybe "Dave" will sort it all out.
Paint it a truly shite colour on their side, assuming you don't need to see it.

If they have ANYTHING about them they'll paint over it .... if they haven't you'll have the consolation that they have a puke inducing view.

All the United and Liverpool fans I have grown up with at home who went to Wembley yesterday and are now pretending to be the biggest Blackpool fans ever and won't shut up about it.

We need a notice in the players' changing room: REMEMBER 53" when we play them. They beat us because we played with a passenger most of the game (Eric Bell) , and it was Moretnesen and not Mathews who did the damage. Payback time at top level. Do it for Nat.

Having spent four days painting and gardening (all so pleasant when we get the weather), I've just had a day doing rock-all and enjoying it. Couple of iced San Miguels, steak-pie , new potatoes and veg with a glass of Liebfraumilche in al-aire-libre and all's well with the world. :D

Are you in the right thread? I'm not sure what rock-all is (in my day it was where they had a weather station, but I assume it means doing nothing). I read this thread to take comfort in the fact people are more upset than I am about things. This is not helping.

Well, he did say that he's drinking 'Liebfraumilche', which could be Paraquat for all I know. :conf:

:D As I am sure you are aware it actually means "Milk of the beloved lady" - ie. Mary the mother of Jesus's breast milk...

(apparently this predated the water into wine miracle and explains why Jesus always appears blotto as a baby....)

This is the sort of name that would put one off drinking it (apart from the fact it is about the lowest quality of German wine (tafelwein being a product of the European Community). I wasn't quite so keen on pork when they call it swine flesh and liver cow's lights. Still the beer is good over there.

Well, the wine buffs seem to know all about it. They can even spell it correctly.

All that matters TD is if you enjoyed it.

If you did, then none of the rest of it matters. :P

British airways cabin crews!!

When they've ruined the company and are bleating about being on the dole or working for tutonic masters, they should hunt down and destroy the scumbag union leader instead of doing a Megson and blameing everyone else.

not sure any wine buffs have claimed any knowledge at all... (yet)

as for people knowing about it - of course people know about it - everyone has 20 bottles lying around somewhere, having collected them over the years being as (along with the Blue Nun) it was always the bottle of wine left at the end of a party.

if it wasn't for raffles (and other people's parties to go to!) and the church bottle stall - I'd be utterly swamped with the stuff!

I still think calling a wine Mary's Breast Milk is a bit weird! 8)
