He'll be on the Radio tomorrow morning stating that it's the Liverpool owners fault that Del Neri quit Sampa to join The Old Lady. Did you know he's a prick?H. Pedersen wrote:Del Neri to Juventus:

Hmmm, no quotes in the report, although no use of the words "sources close to the club"....

What should we believe? Apart from the prickishness off the subject matter....

I do like this ...
... which is more or less what he did with us, only we gave him the title.Sammy Lee, the current assistant manager of the Reds, will step in as a caretaker in the short-term, until a replacement is announced, with the club hoping to find a successor in the next few weeks.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Now, I know the BBC website has been updated quicker for some than others in the past, but nothing on the News or Sport or football home pages yet, and I cant think of anywhere else it could be. I see something in their gossip column, which is usually where the "sources" and "insiders" pick on the respective carcasses.
That's not to say it won't happen. Just that it's not happened, like what the Mirror says....

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE LET ME KEEP MY JOB AND WAIT FOR MORE INFORMATION FROM THIS CURRENT NON-STORY!"Little Green Man wrote:Having Sammy Lee as caretaker for a long stint might just do that.BWFC_Insane wrote: Shame they didn't keep him another year, let him finish the total destruction of Liverpool he's started so well!

This one from a L'pool fan site tickled me ...
100% are anti Hicks & Gillette, may the Lord bless them.
I'd say 75% are "woe is me ... we're doomed, doomed I tell you".
The site is like Colloden. The fans are tearing into each other as some are pro (the majority on this site tbh) and some anti.Me too I am at the end of my tether with the Sky generation and the hype, razzmatazz, millionaire average footballers - boo boys - kneejerkers and the feck* Welsh.... if the Americans outlast Rafa, I'm done.

Get them to define "doomed". Bet you it involves nothing more than 8th. The sort of thing that was happening less than twenty years ago. "doomed" for them is contemplating changing allegiance, the fecking drama-queen sheep. Every club has it's fair shares of peaks and troughs. Liverpool, if and when Benitez is sacked and Hicks & Gillette continue to be in charge, are approaching nothing more than a period of uncertainty. Some other mug will be along soon enough, bail them out, and they'll be rolling in clover again. Then their fans will tell us how it's their "destiny" and how their "history" deserves it. And then we'll despise their sniping attitude, just like the other "I like football because I can support a big club wherever I am" pricks, even more.bobo the clown wrote:This one from a L'pool fan site tickled me ...

You are correct, of course, but in their weird little heads "doomed" is what they see & that means "end up in the Alliance & playing Marine" ... really. They are so ill focused on reality.KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:Get them to define "doomed". Bet you it involves nothing more than 8th. The sort of thing that was happening less than twenty years ago. Some of the more 'normal' ones see a 'Newcastle' period.
In truth they may spend a while not being "big four" as they slide to finishes like 8th - 10th, which, in thie case would seem like a horror show.

In which case, shows how fecked up football is. A spell outside a comfrot zone and all of a sudden it's armafuckinggeddon. Shower o' tarts.bobo the clown wrote:You are correct, of course, but in their weird little heads "doomed" is what they see & that means "end up in the Alliance & playing Marine" ... really. Surely young Rafael isn't going to go until he's got another job lined up? After all, he's entitled to £16million if they want at the moment, isn't he?
I know I wouldn't throw £13million away...
If he doesn't, then he sticks around at Liverpool. There's been no response from his "people" over this offer.
As for Liverpool - if he does go, who next? Roy Hodgson? Can they afford the compensation to Fulham? Would he want to go?
I reckon Allardyce would be good for them - could bring back some of the glory days. But again compensation would be due to Rovers.
Gary Megson's available.
But, a better shout, is surely Kevin Keegan. Ex-Scouse Legend. Experience of being a returning messiah. Experience of management at the very top level. Experience of doing loads of squat thrusts next to Brian Hooper on Superstars.
It's got to be him, hasn't it?
