Exactly. Day after day we read of this, that or the other bid of either £8m or £12m types.

They offer £40k pw to the ordinary and for the Henry's and van Nistelhorse's some staggering amounts.

It's as if they haven't got any financial woes.

There are 3 options ... either
1. they are (or think they are) on a promise re.moving into the Olympic & selling the ground Stadium.
2. they are trading the family silver for short-term glory ... as per Leeds.
3. they are fecking eejits on an ego trip (which is more or less the same as 2)
4. I don't think there is a '4', to be honest.

It's not even as though they can be in any illusion about the saleability of the club as Egg-man found. The average East Ender lives in such a fantasy world that they may be of the opinion that they can dig (another) big financial hole & that someone will come in for them, so wtf.

Bring it on, I think, as these guys are on the road to hell.

Perhaps, they're fecked and they know they're fecked.. They may be trying to get any Tim, Dick, or Harry to sign for them, who they think could be half decent enough to ensure they're 10 or more points ahead of the relegation places by February / March.. Then, they'll put the club into Administration, wiping off half of the debt and starting from scratch worry free!

West Ham have rejected a bid from Tottenham for midfielder Scott Parker.

The 29-year-old England international, who has three years left on his contract, has been linked with a move away from Upton Park.

But Hammers chairman David Sullivan told the club website that Parker is not for sale at any price.

"I made a promise that I would not sell Scott and I will not, for any amount of money, break that promise to the West Ham supporters," he said.

"Scott is not for sale at any price, to anyone. West Ham supporters, for far too long, have had owners that sell their best players and promise one thing and do another.

Harry Redknapp defends Spurs' pursuit of Scott Parker

Parker played in West Ham's friendly win over MK Dons on Wednesday
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has defended Spurs' pursuit of West Ham's Scott Parker insisting the Hammers are guilty of unsettling the midfielder.

Hammers chairman David Sullivan this week claimed he was "very angry" with Spurs for unsettling Parker.

Redknapp is adamant Tottenham have done nothing wrong, suggesting West Ham making his approach public would have done more to affect the player's mind.

"Who made it public that we made an offer?" said Redknapp.

Sullivan insisted England international Parker, who has three years remaining on his contract, was not for sale at any price following Spurs' £7m bid.

The club also issued a statement saying: "We informed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy prior to him making the offer that we would not welcome any approach to unsettle the player."

Tottenham may now improve their offer as Redknapp looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of the new season.


And he says the club were perfectly entitled to bid for the 29-year-old, who began his career at Charlton Athletic before moving on to Chelsea and Newcastle United.

"You can make an offer for a player if you want to. You can make an offer for anybody," added Redknapp.

"I'm sure the chairman [Levy] must have got some encouragement or he wouldn't have made an offer. So I'm not sure the full story has been told about that one.

"The chairman wouldn't have made an offer unless he thought there was a chance that they wanted to do something."

Redknapp also confirmed he would still like to bring Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy to White Hart Lane but was far from certain a deal could be done.

"I like Craig Bellamy but I don't know if they would sell him," said Redknapp following Tottenham's 4-1 home defeat by Villarreal on Thursday.

"The chairman deals with all the transfers. He asks me what I want and I tell him. I don't know where he's at with Bellamy, if anywhere."
