Benitez .... prick

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

That was a total cock up. Liverpool were the better side with 10 men and really deserved the victory. Looked like the ref had been watching too much world cup football.
effectively 9 when Arsenal equalised....
and Agger concussed running around going on about some conversation with Pele.

it was Agger's concussion that I meant which made it 9!

I thought Kirkland looked like a dolt wearing a baseball cap on the field but Reina might have benefited from one. Looked like he lost it in the sun before he pawed it into his own net.

Sun in his eyes or not, hoping to take the ball on his chest near the middle of his goal is piss-poor goalkeeping of pub league order. Whatever happened, Reina brought it on himself.

In the 2nd half I thought Arsenal were dreadful especially considering they had 11 men to Pools 10, but if you thought Arsenal were the better side so be it who am I to argue.

I wouldn't have said we were the better side in the second half - we got a goal straight out of the blocks and then sat back and counter attacked, largely ineffectively. Yes Arsenal didn't make the most of their advantage, but they dominated the possession and territory as you'd expect. We defended well enough (it was a bit hairy in places) but wouldn't have said we were the better side. We didn't deserve to win, certainly.

Now see as much as I hate to say it, I thought you did deserve to win. Arsenal had possession but created nothing.

You were unlucky to be down to 10 IMO. And when down to ten you scored and then pretty much restricted them to very little indeed.

Rosicky's shot was about it.

I thought you looked better than last season but like with ourselves, it will take a while for it to come together. The system looked very good and when Torres is fully fit will win you a lot of games I think.

That was pretty much my feeling about the game. I also liked that with only 10 men on he subbed ngog for torres. It showed a confidence in the team by the manager. Benitez probably would have started with 6 defenders. I also hate to say it but I think Liverpool are finally on the right track although it may take a bit of time.

What the fook was with Lawro and Dixon, former bloody defenders saying that was a red card? If it was, then, to channel Mick McCarthy, we might as well pack up and go home. Serious foul play? Behave. Was it a foul, certainly, was it a booking, yes, a straight red...Jesus tonight! Even five years ago Kev would have been off every week. Though as an aside it was nice to see him crunch a full back for the first time in a while on Saturday.

Cole went in for the ball and with no intention of hitting a leg. A series of pictures in this morning's sun shows quite clearly he was focused totally on the ball. Not the best challeng but no more than a word from the ref for me. Cole can be an agressive little xxxx, but in this case the red was ridiculous. I'm certain it'll get overturned.

I'd have booked him, he did catch him late, but I'm not having that's serious foul play. As for your last sentence...you accuse me of naivety !

It won't get overturned. It send out the 'wrong message'. Had Cole done that tackle against anybody else, he'd have stayed on the pitch. But as it was against Arsenals little darlings, he had to send him off. Wengers players need more protection than anybody else, because they play the right way!

Wilsheres tackle on Mascherano was worse than Coles

Well, I meant on evidence, but I just read that Liverpool aren't appealing so that's that then.

I was wondering that in our match HP...why don't keepers wear caps in the sun any more?
