It's starting to get embarrassing how easy it is for us to win at Upton Park. Perhaps we could save the fixture people a whole lot of trouble and they just give us the 3pts at the start of the season and we all give the game a miss?

Get a grip, you are the media darlings, and if an abysmal player comes through the WHU he's an England international.fozzy wrote:Disagree. Oh, and the rest of the country think Brooking and twitchy Redknapp are a pair of annoying c*nts.
Troll and proud of it.

No, you get a grip. Show me the evidence where anyone - fans or the media - says Tomkins is ready to step up. And say what you like about Redknapp but how the f*ck is Brooking annoying? He's been trying to improve the national game for years, repeatedly pointing out the major shortcomings in our player development.
Nah of the three mentioned, I dislike Tomkins and Redknapp in a comical West Ham-Bolton rivalry thing (and coz Twitchy's a see you next Tuesday), I have a few mates who are Wet Spam fans and they're all sound, and to be honest, you're daft bastard fans are similar to our daft bastard fans, but if there's one I genuinely can't stand it's 'everybody loves Trev', got popular support'....oh wait the stupid bastard has let his position drift away and let the big Burton bastard that we need get put on the back burner. He had the chance to make the changes so many people see as necessary, and he pissed it away in his bid to be seen as a 'nice bloke'. But he won the World Cup.fozzy wrote:No, you get a grip. Redknapp's record speaks for itself. excellent.
Brooking possibly a little less so outside some heroics at wet spam in the odd cup final, but we could have a lot worse
I have no probs with either.
That said, West Ham are treated like a club that's waaaaay better than they are.
Probably a good thing right now otherwise it would be a pretty ugly and depressing read.Worthy4England wrote:fozzy wrote:No, you get a grip. It's more a generic "hey, 'little old Bolton' never get anyone selected, but London teams players will get England call ups if they can fasten their boots properly" type of comment Fozzy.fozzy wrote:Disagree. Yes, we have a chip on our shoulder, which wasn't helped by Capello ignoring Cahill in the Hungary friendly. He's not England's first or second choice, but for fcks sake it was a friendly when you were supposed to be looking at the next generation you fckg Italian knubskull.
It has to be admitted that WHU players are vastly more likely to get selected and to get media recognition that those from most other clubs.

.. & I understand why you wouldn't 'get it' that Brooking gets on some people's tits. He seems a nice guy, one club loyal, clean living. But he's been raised to the status of 'living saint' ... though been ineffectual in the roles he's been given and there seems to be no reason why he's been asked to do them. I don't dislike him, I just wonder what he's for !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Yes, yes, yes, and can I just add that the reason we have a chip is that if you comapre West Ham's and Bolton's record over the last decade, we come out very favourably (is it even slightly better?). Yet hardly a sniff of a eulogy, let alone a cap for our players. Ours can't be that sh*t, nor theirs that good, if our records are level pegging surely? Or have we introduced new criteria into games?bobo the clown wrote:It's more a generic "hey, 'little old Bolton' never get anyone selected, but London teams players will get England call ups if they can fasten their boots properly" type of comment Fozzy.fozzy wrote:Disagree. You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

There were the odd occasions when we didn't actually have any Englishmen on the pitch over the last decade...Lord Kangana wrote:Yes, yes, yes, and can I just add that the reason we have a chip is that if you comapre West Ham's and Bolton's record over the last decade, we come out very favourably (is it even slightly better?). When you look at who might have got capped from Bolton, you're sort of left with
1) Nolan during 1 season (but would have had to oust Gerrard probably) so unlikely
2) Hunt would have had to oust that scabby Manc bastard - even more unlikely
3) Ricketts, just for a moment - got about as many caps as he deserved, or possibly one more than he deserved.
Anyone else?

West Ham players have proved consistently sh*t for England (and in the League) and yet still continue to get caps. Thats the point I'm amking. If their sh*t can get games, why doesn't ours?
