Pennant could be a very good loan signing.

Define struggle, coz if you mean go down you're off your rocker. Teams Stoke are better than:

Us, Wolves, Newcastle, Sunderland, Blackpool, West Brom, West Ham, Wigan. And there's not much between Blackburn, Fulham, Brum and them.

Still doesn't make £8million for Kenwyne Jones not f*cking mental though.

By struggle, I mean a battle against relegation, successful or otherwise. Looking at their squad, it really isn't that good. Player-for-player, we're probably better.

They've over-achieved the last couple of seasons finishing mid-table, their home form is gradually getting worse, and they don't score enough goals (34 last season?). Or in other words, they're getting found out this season. And, let's face it, signings like Salif Diao and Jermaine Pennant hardly strike fear in opposition players now, do they?

I saw him play for Zaragoza against Espanyol in January ... oh, he was bad. Rightyfully subbed-off after 60 minutes, I think.

Had no idea he was playing there, until I saw him on the team sheet.
Djorkaeff ... Djorkaeff must score ... he does ... HE DOES !!!

Stoke have a pretty poor squad, and £8m on Kenwyne Jones is some of the worst business of the window, probably only beaten by Sunderland signing Asamoah Gyan for £13m+. Gyan really could go either way but at best he is a 10 goal a season man, and that has been when the team played to his strengths. Sunderland have obviously just paid a 'world cup fee' for him though rather than his actual value.

Actually scrap that Liverpool swapping Alex Kacaniklic and Lauri Dalla Valle + cash for Paul Konchesky is the worst business of the window.

Has he ever really lived up to the potential that he showed at Leeds? I don't think so.

Not many ex Leeds have lived up to their reputation.

Anyway, I think Klasnic and Petrov were great pieces of business for frees (although neither have lit the place up so far). Not entirely sure why a club with no money felt fit to spend all of it on a reserve left-back.

All in all not much to complain about really.

Klasnic has hardly had much of a chance has he!!
I know, but that's partly what I meant. He's not yet been fit enough to start a Premier League game.

I had them down as potential relegations at the start when it looked like they were struggling to do business. I'm impressed with the Eidur signing in particular though. Can't see them dropping now.

Meh, i'm not sure having a 31 year old Eider Gudjohnsen in the side will suddenly alter the fact that they will struggle.

First of all ranting is sometimes good, go check out the angry thread :D

And it wasn't nit-picking. You have an opinion that Stoke will struggle. Your using playground rhetoric 101 doesn't make it any more likely. It certainly isn't a 'fact'. It's an opinion, and people presenting their opinions as facts makes me want to rant.
