Thanks, TANGO, for the link (or not!). I learned less in an hour of watching and listening than I did from three paragraphs of print. To be honest I'd rather read a science fiction novel based on the facts of the situation than the equally slanted views of the clerics and Roman Catholic sympathisers as expressed in that exhibition of 'oddness'.

Surely 70,000 people cannot be wrong (unless it was something akin to a Billy Graham concert) can they?

I might refer you to the Bible's (O.T.) book of Ezekiel. Perhaps also the Sanskrit documents/legends of India where flying machines were pretty much commonplace?

Anyhow this is a football forum, sort of, and I'll shut me gob now.

*Makes mental note to catch up on the Leviticus and Exodus*

If memory serves the Leviticus was all about Moses getting an ear full of advice from someone who knew a bit more than old Moses himself? I think that there was also some sort of cost to that though, like providing the advisor with meat (cattle and such). Exodus I recall little of; was that the story of the desert tramp where a miraculous machine was described? The machine which provided manna?

My memory's gone and my eyesight is up the putty, but I'll try and re-read those, Prufrock. Ta!

I read into all this once. The arguments and theories are endless. Science has also had many views on the subject all based around the Arc of The Covenant as a source of great power. After all the deliberation, nobody seems too much wiser and alien influences beyond our world are not discounted. I also read somewhere once about the power of sound waves being used to lift the blocks of the Pyramids into place. It's a vast, vast topic. Easily dismissed as hocus-pocus.....but then..?

Since manna and Biblical reference is being discussed by Dujon and it was his post I replied to I foolishly didn't highlight the word "manna", assuming he would know to what I referred. Do forgive my error.

hmmm... if dujon meant that the ark was a manna machine - and that's what you're on about - then pause a moment - the arrival of the manna preceded the construction of the ark of the covenant... so the ark of the covenant could not have been any kind of manna-providing machine - it didn't exist at the time.

so - your reading into "manna" somehow involved aliens? There are perfectly rational and reasonable theories about the "manna" without recourse to aliens or an acacia box that didn't then exist....

Dear, dear, how you do love to appear superior. My post was a simple reply to Dujon and not something for you to start another silly argument about.( highlighted above). I take nothing back from it and suggest you do a bit of reading yourself.I stated clearly that theories suggested the Arc was a power source. This doesn't mean it was as I wasn't around at the time. I'm quite sure Dujon wouldn't see the need for you to explain something none of us know much about for sure. As for aliens, well, even Richard Dawkins admitted the possiibility of alien influences in the creation of the world. Me, I just believe God did it all. There really was no need for yet another bishopric lecture.

Peace be upon you.

tango - you said you had read up about manna - and then talked about the ark as a power-source - responding to Dujon's idea that the ark was a "manna-machine"

I merely pointed out that this doesn't add up - because the manna preceded the ark.

how that it a "bishopric lecture" (whatever that is) I have no idea! (perhaps you could mark your posts in some way if you do not want people to respond to them?)

also - you said that "Science has also had many views on the subject all based around the Arc of The Covenant as a source of great power."

Which scientists do you have in mind - then I can (as you suggest) go and read about them? Which scientists have theories about the Ark as a source of power?

I'm sure if you tried you could pursue the subject as I really can't recall which issues of WIzard, Aventure, Rover and Hotspur I read over the years,
but page 124 here touches on it as just one link:

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=fgcd ... &q&f=false

Then again, I might just have imagined it all.

so... Tango - be straight with us...

your "scientist" is Frank Collin - alias "Frank Joseph" - the neo-nazi (National-Socialist White People's Party) and former founder and leader of the National Socialist Party of America who planned to march in their Nazi uniforms through the Chicago suburb of Skokie, Illinois because back then it had the largest Jewish population per-capita in the United States, and many residents were Holocaust survivors..

the same Frank Collin - alias "Frank Joseph" - who was convicted of child molestation and sent to Pontiac prison in 1979 - and after his prison sentence changed his name...

the same Frank Collin - alias "Frank Joseph" - who has precisely ZERO scientific qualifications...

the same Frank Collin - alias "Frank Joseph" - whose other scientific works deal with the lost city of atlantis

Is that the scientist you are offering us - or did I miss something? Because he doesn't strike me as befitting the title "scientist" at all.
