Its on Film4 next week

Its great
I heard it was on last week. Anyhow, thanks fert heads up, Chief, it looks like it's one that's worth owning anyway. I've been looking at the reviews (all excellent) which have led me to similar works which involve either one or more of Writer/Director/Cast members, so I've now added to my order This is England, Somer's Town and A Room for Romeo Brass.

I'll let you know how I get on.
A Room for Romeo Brass is also a favourite, Paddy Considine in this is immense!!! wasnt overly impressed with Somers Town, i just cant be doing with that Turgoose lad, he really irritates me, although he is pretty good in This is England which is also a belter! the dvd's have a couple of his short films on them too which are pretty good.

I have watched Mulholland Drive twice in the last few days! Films don’t get much better than that for me, completely twisted, cryptic, sub-conscious story where you just have to come up with your own theory as to wtf is going on. A soundtrack that has been haunting my sleep too! Incredible. Also watched Eraserhead and Blue Velvet recently, both also brilliant in their own ways – will be checking out the rest of his filmography now.

Yeah sorry thats kind of what I meant.

I'm worried the old "Fawlty Towers" theory may be proven right again. It wasn't that it was terrible, it was almost that it was too familiar to be really funny. IMO of course.

yeah, 3rd season syndrome, probably peaked at the end of season 2, so should have just left it at that - instead its sold its soul to the devil to feed the masses more of the same old stuff. we'll see i suppose, i hope im wrong!

i did LOL at the 'speedo's' bit, but i thought they milked it (so to speak) a bit to much.

just read this... gonna have to watch it again now!
Contained within the original DVD release is a card titled "David Lynch's 10 Clues to Unlocking This Thriller". The clues are:
1. Pay particular attention in the beginning of the film: At least two clues are revealed before the credits.
2. Notice appearances of the red lampshade.
3. Can you hear the title of the film that Adam Kesher is auditioning actresses for? Is it mentioned again?
4. An accident is a terrible event — notice the location of the accident.
5. Who gives a key, and why?
6. Notice the robe, the ashtray, the coffee cup.
7. What is felt, realized, and gathered at the Club Silencio?
8. Did talent alone help Camilla?
9. Note the occurrences surrounding the man behind Winkie's.
10. Where is Aunt Ruth?

I won't get to see it 'til Friday (so thanks for not ruining it). I have a worry that it might be a season too far, but I really hope I'm wrong.

Got landed with the new Robin Hood on the way here. Sound enough if you like that kind o' thang. What I'd call a Tuesday evening-er, if you see what I mean, but my life wouldn't be lacking had I not seen it.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Agreed, twas ok, but not much better. A couple of genuine laughs and the typical uneasiness but it's very much of the old formula of chasing girls and making tits out of themselves. Will still be watching the rest of the series though. Apparently they've filmed a film as well which is surely destined to be a flop.

Oh, and that Simon Bird programme on BBC3 is possibly one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Saw it a few years ago and to be the devil's advocate here, I found it rather disappointing. It is alright but nowhere near deserving the heaps of praise that has been piled on it. While done in a very dark gritty style it wasn't much different than your typical horror suspense revenge killer movie. I might have enjoyed more if I liked any of the characters. Really didnt care who got killed including the lead. Still there are a lot worse films out there, a lot more, it's just that I have seen a lot better films, a lot more.

It was very good last night.

Though lets be fair the first one was just introducing the characters and scene setting.

Theres still something and I can't put my finger on it, not quite right with it though, somehow it doesn't quite connect how it should.

Still a very good watch though.

Read some reviews on that and they're not too favourable in genaral. Not sure why they made another version after Prince of Thieves. Okay, it was Costner, but it had the right mix of action and subtle comedy to make it watchable. Rickman alone was worth the entrance fee. I'll probably still watch the new one.
