A home win against a Premier league side and all you can hear is booing at the final whistle. Strange bunch

Oh well, we didn't want a cup run this early in the season or we would have played our first team and I think we owe Burnley something for nicking their manager. Anyway there's always next year.....lots of other excuses blah, blah 8)

Losing 1-0 with a team made mostly of our reserves isn't that poor. Hopefully we can make something happen against ManUtd.

I'd still hope that there was enough quality in those players to do the business tonight. Needed the likes of Taylor, Mavies, Cohen and Klasnic to step up but sounds like it didn't happen. Not the end of the world mind, and I don't really care about it.

Oh, I had to put up with the smug bastards on Radio Lancashire tonight as well.

let's hope our record of resting players for a "big" game is better now... though - I suspect we had far more to gain from a cup run than with the outside chance of a win over manU...

i do care - and my evening is ruined...

pah!

Lets have a little bit of perspective eh? We only lost a cup game against Burnley, I certainly won't lose any sleep over it. In a Sammy Lee kind of way some positives in that Rodrigo sounded like he had a good game as did Bogdan again
Pfffft.

Well, if we dwell on it, crap like this does have a habit of carrying over. As it is, and as our team selection seemingly suggests, we have bigger fish to fry over the next few weeks.

It's disappointing to be knocked out of any cup, even more so by a lower league club. But if we don't draw a line underneath the result, and assess the tie as it was seemingly used - the chance to gauge the progress/suitability of fringe players - then we're not going to get much further.

Hell fire I feel crushed, totally never expected to lose that. Tell you what Burnley, you can have the useless t-totalling haggis shagging c*nt back! I'll take Laws. We were outplayed, outclassed, outpassed, outfought all over the pitch. I feel like I did in Lisbon, let's see how the rested darlings do against the DMBs on Sunday!?

This game has given a chance to players who have not been in the starting 11.

We lost the defeat means more to Burnley than it does to us, they can celebrate and put a few demons to bed.

We concentrate on the premier league which is where we need to stay.

Wsh I could feel it didn't matter. I can't and was gutted all through that. Good win over the Saints and we lose, well, hand it on a plate really, to Burnley. So much for Klasnick with Elmander, Elmander with the Spaniard, Klasnik with Blake etc etc. Take KD out of the front line and we're almost toothless. We didn't give it respect and got bitten in the ass, no use claiming otherwise.

Not nearly as embarrassing as losing to The Shakers in the cup under BSA. Put this in the file marked 'could do better'
