Used to live on our estate in Little Lever in the 1960's. Duxbury Avenue to be exact. Didnt realise he was still at the club in 1970. Me and a few mates used to sneak up to his front window and stare at him watching telly.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:Anybody old enough to remember Arthur Marsh?
I got a sickness, sweet as a love note,
I got a headache, like a pillow.
L Dopa fixed me, all right

Wright signed 71, apparently
Does anyone remember a guy called Alan Parkinson? He was in the youth team /reserve side that spawned Jones, Whatmore, Reid etc.

I still can't believe that Laville cost us £2.5m?
The only link I can find says £500k - http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/General/0,,1 ... 55,00.html
Did we pay more?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Are you sure you don't mean Stuart Bourne? See http://archive.theboltonnews.co.uk/2002 ... 75772.htmlCAPSLOCK wrote:Can I add Stuart Bourn to Brucies query
He reckons to have been about at that time

In terms of disappointment I would throw Robbie Elliott in there. A couple of Toon fans I knew were outraged when they sold him to us as they were expecting great things from him. Breaking his leg on his home debut robbed us of the player we should have had but Colin Todd called him his biggest disappointment in his time as manager.

He did, Zulu. Parky was a Right Back who broke his leg badly and never really recovered. I used to work with him. Great guy, although you couldn't get the ball off the little c*nt in five-a-side.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:Vaguely. Did he play in same team as Pete Olinyk?Bruce Rioja wrote:Ah, reet. He tells folk he's an ex-player but I can never find anything to support his claim
Late 60s he would've been playing, I guess
