Absolutely magnificent - and to a full house as well.

I now measure the performances of all female actresses against those that I saw given by Margot Lester last year - it's where I've set the bar, if you will. I thought that Clare Foster's Blanche DuBois was up there with them. I thought she was absolutely tremendous.

I read, I think, in the MEN that their reviewer considered Thacker's production 'needlessly long'. Balls. I'd have been happy for it to have ran past midnight.

Now looking forward to Love on The Dole.

Booked for Love on the Dole at th'Octagon today for second Friday of run. Now, i know Friday nights are popular, but I got the last two tickets in the stalls. The box office staff said it was madly busy.

This is going to be another sell out.

Booked for Love on the Dole at th'Octagon today for second Friday of run. Now, i know Friday nights are popular, but I got the last two tickets in the stalls. The box office staff said it was madly busy.

This is going to be another sell out.

Magnificent and concerning in equal measure to learn that the tickets are flying out. Regarding the emboldened bit - I forgot to mention in my recap of Saturday - If you're you're taller than six foot two then front row gallery seats aren't the best in the house that you can score. Not impossible, but not the best. Especially when taking in a three-hour show immediately on the back of having done nine miles over the tops of Endenfield and Cowpe.

^ We're there on Saturday the 23rd so thats the evening after you William. Got our season tickets organised on the last visit of the previous season and fixed the dates at the same time. Good job we did that as my wife was made redundant shortly after and has been on the pitiful Job Seekers ever since! I picked this one out as potentially the highlight of the season so am really looking forward to it. Good to hear that tickets are selling fast.

My wife was having an evening out with the girls and I wangled my way out with them

Started at Dimitris on Deansgate, Manchester, which is one of my favourite restaurants. Never had anything but excellent food and service there! I had chicken kebabs whilst the girls had tapas.

Strolled over the road to the cinema for this passable story of 'how women got equal pay' back in the 1960's. Lead character very reminiscent of Rita Tushingham who is picked out by her convenor (Bob Hoskins) as an unlikely leader who after a nervous start goes on to organise the workforce and get the rights women now enjoy.

Lots of 'facking this and facking that' West Haaaam type dialogue. Miranda Richardson plays Barbara Castle and she gets the fiery redhead bit right but doesn't even attempt a northern accent so that doesn't seem quite right.

Overall not a bad way to spend an evening but don't expect too much.

i love Dimitris also, probably my favourite eatery in manc? not been for while though, certainly not since the extension. but always a cracking night.

i like that cinema too, have done the same routine many times!

Not seen Made in Dagenham yet but my owd man went on wednesday and absolutely loved it, also Mark Kermode was full of praise, even said it will be in his top ten films of the year, and his reviews are always spot on for me.

Tonight it's the match with our lads maybe getting a start, but today had a day out in the beloved town.

Bolton in the rain and wind can be a pretty miserable place; today, in glorious sunshine on a lovely Autumn day it was pretty dam good. Strolled around in the sunshine, did a bit of shopping, bought a new Winter anorak of the "Rockface" variety, got a new ship to build and then went to sit on the Town Hall square and ate a hot Greenhalgh's meat and potato pie. For a while at least, I was at peace with the world.

^ Do you know Tango, I've got a similar day out set for Thursday. Got to drop my car off for service at 9am and then have nothing else planned until I pick it up again later in the day. I've not been in town (other than th'Octagon) since May this year so looking forward to a stroll and meeting some people and drinking some coffee and just chilling out for a while. Lets hope the sun has still got its hat on!
