He's pretty good at taking it off the opposition though, and funnily enough, that helps.

Besides, why change a good team? Have I missed something, we're doing OK, why risk a centre half in midfield who's never played there for one of your more consistent players?

Cahill might be able to play as a deep midfielder

Doubt he can do the job Coyle asks of Muamba, so its a non-starter

Muamba isn't being played as a holding midfield player.

In a 5 man midfield a case could be made for seeing what Cahill was like in front of the back four ala Campo. Seeing as we're playing 4-4-2 with two central midfield players chasing all over the show, then Cahill there is a non starter.

For me Cahill should be on the bench Saturday, but he won't be and I can understand why.

I'd go back to Gahill for the reason that our goals conceded per minute he's on the field is less than when Ricketts is on.
He's also scored more.

While Mr R may 'look' good, statistics are looked at by coaching staff and manager.

How many clean sheets have Knight and Cahill kept compared to Ricketts and Knight.

On a percentage basis.

Genuine question I don't know. To me thats the most important stat.

Equally I'd be happier with 2 1-0 wins and then a 6-0 thumping than 3 2-2's!

IMO clean sheets guarantee you points and show a defence that can concentrate and stay focussed across 90 minutes of football over one that looks good then makes a mistake.

I think the point is, you've got to look at all sorts of things

For example, conceding 2 against United is maybe the equivalent of a clean sheet against a toothless Fulham

Especially when you look at the goals conceded last week...I'd say neither were the fault of the CBs
