He is their record signing strangely enough.
he was signed for 1.2 million. Wiki reports Blackpool's record signing to be:
Largest transfer fee paid: £1.25m (D.J. Campbell, to Leicester City, 2010)

Thought it might've been the amount that they paid Bury for Derek Spence! :o

Derek Spence used to coach me when I was younger. Forgot all about him.

Anyway, those are 2 hugely underwhelming record signings.

Think you're right, surpassing the fee for Basham which was the record ;)

Indeed - August 31 versus Aug 13. However, I can't claim any correctness - I just looked it up and the source, wiki, may be questionable.

If you'll let me off for the incorrectness of my first post and subsequent attempt to smooth it over, I'll not question your source!

Sure - it was just a matter of using the present instead of the imperfect tense. You were correct in fact, just not in time. And the fact was still surprising. How many record signings don't play after the first couple of games and do not appear to be injured? How can Blackpool pull of such good results with a team in which Basham is the second record signing?

I thought he'd do a job there to be honest. He still might of course, particularly if he's currently out of the team for injury.
