If Sir Nut has a "missus" or any sort of prolonged contact with any female other than those at the "home" and possibly his mother I'll be stunned.

Actually- I looked it up now - it's not scalding...

it was a horrific car accident when he was a kid... (I didn't know this)
Nineteen years ago, Lescott was struck by a car as he stepped into the road outside his primary school in the Midlands.

His mother, sitting in the family car opposite, could only look on as her child was dragged along the road and suffered such severe head injuries that his survival was in doubt as he was taken away for major surgery. Numerous operations followed, leaving the scar that is still visible on Lescott's forehead and which has left a permanent reminder of that dreadful afternoon. "I was lucky," he insists, and in a sport that discusses fortune, tragedy and triumph only too glibly, the Everton defender's assessment holds more currency than most.

Lescott explains: "A lot of people have come off a lot worse than I did. I saw another little boy in hospital who came in without a scratch, but had suffered brain damage after being hit by a wing mirror. I have a scar but I have nothing to worry about. I had a major operation straight away and several more over the next few months but I was young and didn't really know too much about what was going on. I know there was a time when my mum and dad didn't think it would turn out as good as it has done, put it that way, but thankfully the doctors worked their magic.
it was Tevez who was scalded - as a child, Carlos Tevez was scalded by hot water, leaving him with a scar running from his right ear to his chest. His family were too poor to pay for it to be properly treated. He has been quoted as saying he could afford plastic surgery now, but the scarring is part of who he is and he is proud to have achieved what he has.

Ribery was involved in a massive car accident and a massively stitched up face when he was 2years old..

going back slightly further...
Driving to a game in 1948, Robert Schlienz carelessly let his arm hang out the window. When he hit a pothole, the car overturned and his arm was damaged beyond repair. After amputating one arm, most players would have retired, but Schlienz kept playing. He went on to become captain of his team Stuttgart, won two national championships, and even played three games for Germany.

PS - also check out Garrincha - he won the World Cup twice with Brazil, making top scorer and player of the tournament the second time around. He was born with a deformed spine, a right leg bent inwards, and a left leg six centimetres shorter than the other, and curved outwards.

He could jump about 28 feet straight upwards too.

Poor SirNut. Must be turning in his grave. How about this for a stat from the BBC:

"last season he created 81 scoring chances, the highest number by any striker in the Premier League."

Hahaha. Someone said today that Davies is a "red card waiting to happen". Told them the stat about him getting less yellow and red cards than Rooney over the past eight years, only to be met with "most of Rooney's are for dissent, so your argument doesn't make sense. Davies are because of violent conduct".

1) Violent Conduct is a straight red. 2) If they're for anything, the lion's share would be for persistent fouling. 3) Oh, dissent's a good yellow, is it?

Funnily enough, the conversation finished very soon after that.

We just need Dan Smith to do a hatchett job on Defoe next time then.
