They won't even consider a statue of Nat? Really?

The board, and chairman PG have been approached many times by various groups regarding a statue and if I remember correctly have said that although they are not opposed to the idea it is not something that is high, or even on, their agenda.
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion

I do think Nat will get a statue at some point. However, unfortunately 'at some point' = 'when he dies'.

Eddie Hopkinson should be there, along with Tommy Banks.

The Arsenal one is pretty much recent history, can't remember any really old ones on there. Football didn't exist before the PL.

As is any attempt to have a "hero's wall" or "legends parade" or anything similar.

I'm all for remembering the history but stuff like this is wanky pretentious, ott, sycophantic, bollocks that clubs like Arsneal and Liverpool do.
Agreed.

If we need to do any navel gazing exercise, may I suggest a Wanderers Museum, which 1) can be as big (or small) as, and can be adapted as, history and/or club ego dictates, rather than any permanent fixture, and 2) has the ability to say to fans of other clubs who are scathing "if you're not interested, feck off and don't bother us with your opinion".

I would like to counsel against any inclination at all to put up any kind of statue, of any description, anywhere near anything to do with the club.

you may have visited stretford poonited; what about their statues at the ex-scoreboard end? billy bremner at elland road; scottish bastard at anfield - jesus, mary and joseph! they are aweful, and so are all the others across the land. if our club joined in with this high cost, very low quality product i would stamp my foot on the floor, several times!

If we got a bronze of Nat like the photo Bish posted above I would think it a very modest but fitting tribute to a great man.

The Bell Centre (home of the Canadiens) has a "wall of fame" as you walk in the main entrance - just pictures of past heroes. Personally I don't think it is that tacky.

Well, yours couldn't possibly any worse than the one of Fred Dibnah in the town centre, which actually looks more like Percy Sugden than it does Dibnah.

The one of Dibnah should be so much better.

As for a statue of 'Sir' Nat, hell yes. Like a few have said though it won't happen until he's no longer with us. And the club would probably look to the money being raised elsewhere
Pfffft.
