Theres something fishy about this bish, I think they've already signed pre-contracts with Spurs.

No it won't. The a**eholes will just say "it was only Montenegro, he should never have played".

Remember who you're dealing with here. A**eholes never change their mind, even when the evidence that they should is put in front of them.

I'm sure they will but I don't give a toss, I will just be happy he finally got the cap he has long deserved.

Why has Davies come out and declared that "he can be the new Heskey?" The old one was shite and definitely not as good as Davies.

I know it is the current vogue, received wisdom, football orthodoxy etc...

but Heskey was never "shite".

He was referring to Heskey's usefullness in assists etc. The Sun has a double page spread about KD today which is quite complimentary.

I know it is fashionable to say so - but, no, not really...

Agree Bish - he's probably a couple of yards quicker than Davo too.

The tabloids are ass-covring already by saying if Davies had played for a more fashionable club he'd have been in the England side ages ago (just in case he plays and has a good game). If he should play and have a bad game they'll no doubt claim playing for Bolton has ruined him.

I can't agree that Heskey was better than Davo. Nor Davo better than Heskey. I'm not sure either are particularly "International Standard", particularly for a country with high ambitions.

Still say, though, given the direct competition, he should have more caps.

Indeed it is a damning indictment of English football that such a technically limited footballer as Davies can be playing as one of our best

Disgraceful, really

On the Heskey/Davies debate, I'd choose Davies as a club manager cos he turns up most weeks

It is bad because if you look behind Davo, there's not much in the queue. The inconsistent Agbonlahor, the Carroll potential call up was laughable. 20 teams in the PL and not a lot coming through

I'm not sure anyone argued either was better than the other - not directly or strongly anyway. The idea being responded to was the assertion that Heskey was simply shite.

I hear the term "international quality" bandied about a lot.

I understand the sentiment in using it, I've used it myself before.

But it is a bit meaningless.

Plenty of players that would get nowhere near a first team squad in the championship are "international quality" if its defined as someone who plays consistently at international level and does "well".

It was used in the context of a team with high aspirations, not a team simply wanting to fullfil fixtures.

Which, reading into comments that OC has made this week it something he wants for Wanderers. Not to aspire just to finish above the relegation places but to want more
Pfffft.
