Fook me, that IS some win.Lord Kangana wrote:Robinson was bloody woeful today.
Petrov was pretty hopeless, and they might aswell have played with ten bringing Taylor on.
However, i thought the rest of the team really pulled together today. On balance a deserved 34 points. Just. Either that or Coyle is "lucky". Yeah.
WE. ARE. TOP OF THE LEAGUE.....
By about 25 points as well!
The fighting looked relatively lively from my viewpoint up the other end - can't believe Gowling and Dearden missed it completely...
The gap between East lower corner and the away fans wasn't sufficiently manned and quite a few Stokies got over the net and into the Bolton lot. Since they were outnumbered can only assume they didn't come off too well but it was sorted out after a minute or two.
On a somber note one of the Stoke fans was stretchered away for unknown reason in the first half, hope that's not too serious.

Should mention the actual football, a well battled 3 points, thought Cahill and Knight did a decent job of keeping Jones away from our goal, Jussi we called on for a 1 on 1.
Petrov cost us the corner from which they scored but as well as that, it's consecutive mistakes that are fatal and Delap was in acres at the back stick.
Being an England player hasn't helped Davies get a jot from the referee, who was shit today. Thought Knight was pushed for this supposed handball Pulis is crying about.
Positives:
Holden fought well again, up against it physically in a game like this.
Good to see Lee on the scoresheet again.
It was better than last time Stoke paid us a visit!
Held on at the very death when I thought Eidur was certain to score that free kick.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Just handbags from my view in ESL, back row near halfway line. A lot of huffing but I don't even think there were any arrests.Athers wrote:The fighting looked relatively lively from my viewpoint up the other end - can't believe Gowling and Dearden missed it completely...

As for the fan stretchered out it looked like a little old woman to me and was taken out after extended work by the paramedics up in the stand. Not stretchered though, was sat up in a chair. Got applause from all the Stoke fans and a good lot of the ESL as well.
Cracking match! Thought we'd settled for a point at around 80 minutes but Coyle was putting forward players on rather than defensive so I couldn't quite work it out. Then came Eeeeevan!
Sat in the front row of ESL with Mrs TKIZ looked over when they started 'handbagging' in the corner and it looked more like a few Potters had clambered over and not many more followed. Just to endorse what CIG said, it doesn't have a place in the modern game and I hope they ban the individuals involved

Good win, in the end, but yet again we never really looked like losing. Our midfield took about half an hour to get into the swing of things, which meant Stoke really dominated the first half. Pennant gave Robbo a torrid time, but eventually he managed to pull things back. Excellent goal from CYL.
Elmander and SKD would have been a lot better had they been a little closer together - far too often were knockdowns found in empty space, with the partner striker a good 20 yards from where he was needed. Klasnic was a much needed breath of fresh air, but Elmander was a little unlucky to come off - neither him nor Kev looked like scoring, and there was nothing to choose between them. Well-taken goal from Klasnic, but I'll need the benefit of MotD to decide whether he should have been sent off. The ref was exceptionally poor the whole game, and seemed to have decided that anything that happened off the ground was nothing to do with him - Stoke's defenders could have gotten away with dismembering SKD.
In the end, we were a little lucky to come away with the victory, but in an enthralling game, Stoke never really pushed us, I don't think.
A word on the fans. Stoke's were in fine voice, ours were much the same as usual, but did get behind the team. The trouble happened at the other end of the ground to me - the Stoke fans and ours in the Krazy Korner were exchanging insults the entire game, but after Klasnic scored the winner, the Stokies broke through the stewards (who I can only assume were looking the other way at the time) and charged the Bolton fans. Missiles were thrown either way, and it was all a little pathetic.

gotta love a bit of handbags!
apart from that i was jealous of Stokes fans today, we wouldn't take that many to Stoke if it was free! and they were terrific throughout the game, proper support!
Petrov was better than he was at WBA which isnt saying much, he was garbage again! and i was astounded when they announced Lee was MOTM, i forgot he was playing at times.
not to be too negative, i really enjoyed the game and haven't celebrated a goal like that for a while, i honestly thought it was game over at 1-1. not sure about the Robinson digs, thought he played very well, as did Cahill & Knight, Stiener not so much! but im growing into a huge fan of Stuart Holden! oh, and we missed the sending off too!
also, theres nowt worse than sitting in ESL when the suns out, its a frickin nightmare!....... better than at a computer screen i suppose.

I absilutely agree with everything, including the sunlight issue, missing the sending off and Steinsson being possibly the worst first team regular in the Premier League.General Mannerheim wrote:gotta love a bit of handbags!

However, I disagree about Stokes support. They were noisy for 5 minutes after the goal, otherwise, they may aswell have had about 300 there for the noise they made. Impressive numbers, but shite noise

Hi folkes, just got back in from the game, i must say i was very impressed with both Stoke and Bolton, Some good football all round, but lets be honest here, you havn't got rid of the long ball game by any means, now this isn't just sour grapes, its the truth!
Anyway, forget the game for a moment here, I will explain the Trouble in and out of the ground as i was near/involved in both... Inside when your fans celebrated the winner, a load of us stokies got over the net due to poor policing and stewarding, and came pretty much face to face with some teenage chavs, i wasn't intending to hit anyone, but some little **** spat towards me, he must have been no older than 14, and then when this happened the surge came forward and we were within touching distance, punches were thrown, bottles, coins, anything really... then the GMP got involved and pushed the stokies back, resulting in me comically falling doen that black or blue net thing, pissed as a parrot i was, still pissed off from the game and the cheecky **** who spat at me. Then outside the ground yet again your lads were giving all mouth again so a group of about 100-200 stokies ran your fans back down that little path by the river, there was a face off and then once again GMP were there to break it up, thats what i saw, and rumour has it that there was also trouble at the station too.
some might say: oh stoke petty hooligans always causing trouble again, but i am afraid it was just as much the bolton fans as stoke... i am expecting a whole load of abuse from you now, but to be honest guys i am just telling you how it was, and trying to shed some light on it, for those who didn't see what happened, i didnt throw any punches or cause any violence but was in the surge.

Fair enough, you pretty much tally with what I saw from over yonder - but your testimony about it not being all your fault is tainted somewhat by your own admission that you were pissed as a parrot. Also, if you hadn't got past the (admittedly lax) stewards anyway, there'd have been no 14 year old scrote to spit at you...hooliganstokie-staz wrote:Hi folkes, just got back in from the game, i must say i was very impressed with both Stoke and Bolton, Some good football all round, but lets be honest here, you havn't got rid of the long ball game by any means, now this isn't just sour grapes, its the truth!

i know what your saying, but when you scored we got stuff thrown at us, so because your lot were giving it mouth and then most stokies in the area, charged, suppose a mixture of sour grapes, anger, pissed off, and being bombarded by petty chavs.truewhite15 wrote:Fair enough, you pretty much tally with what I saw from over yonder - but your testimony about it not being all your fault is tainted somewhat by your own admission that you were pissed as a parrot. And this is not just another sour grapes but i thought your support was very poor today, we pretty much outsung you all game, and this isn't just me trying to make a conflict, just the way it was to be fair.
