Three sendings off and it aint even winter

Post by officer_dibble » Sun Oct 17, 2010 6:52 pm

Can't be arsed looking but surely we are on course for our worst ever season in terms of discipline?
I can't even recall 3 sendings off in a season for us before now, sure Worth will prove me wrong.

Bit worrying though, lucky the squads a bit better than it used to be I guess if we're going to keep missing players through suspension.

Could say same for a whole heap of teams. It seems we're getting more cards in general
Pfffft.

Aye and for what? An uncharacteristic Jussi slap, a silly Cahill dismissal and a rush of blood from Ivan.

We had five last season according to the Premier League website. Our worst in the last 10 years was 7 in 2001-2002.

Indeed. Been fortunate so far that bans haven't really cost us.

Jussi x2, Warhorse, Ricardo, Holdsworth, Diawara and Konstantinidis. Can't swear they were all in league games.

so it's fair to say that judging on the first 8 games we won't be getting our European ticket this season via the Fair Play League

2 red cards as I don't class the ridiculous decision to send Cahill off as a "real red".

The Cahill one was ridiculous & by a ref who, though he was too fckg childish (literally) to admit he got it wrong ... and against Arsenal the dirtiest team in the league and was publicly backed by the authorities has subsequently been laid-off a while coz he's shite.

The Jussi one was stunning ... & so stupid.

Klasnic could easily have gone for the first one alone. Why do that ? The second was a silly one that could have gone either way, but was not an inherently wrong decision (tho from an astonishgly inept referee). It's pretty clear that KJlasnic got a bit of a rush of blood after his goal ... bless him.

Tackles and 'in action' bookings are one thing. But if we have players slapping and pushing throats we are going to get players sent off. We seem to be quite low-key 'dissenters' these days, which is good. We have avoided the shirt removing, running into the crowd bllx which gains you a booking for being stupid. (oddly Citeh yesterday Tevez was booked for running into the fans, Silva was nor for removing his shirt; I assume the ref missed it in the melee).
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Ah yes! Diawara's sole contribution to Bolton Wanderers!

That Jussi one against Newcastle ended up with us having Bo Hansen in goal didn't it? I still remember Shearer celebrating his goals even though it was the equivalent of smashing them in past the last kid to be picked in PE

I reckon Klasnic's second yellow was no foul... But he should have gone off for the first foul... It would have been totally hilarious if he'd scored the winner AFTER that foul, a la Mcginlay v Wolves... Hilarious for us anyway...

What the 'wee push'?

Hahaha that would have been something.

Greavsy's commentary on the Youtube version is hilarious

We are usually near the bottom of the fair play table although I'm not sure how they measure some of those categories.

Actually the pertinent question is how many red cards we have had since Coyle took over - and how that stacks up to other managers?

No idea, but BSA has already picked up a red and two yellows tonight. Which tells us nothing about him.

Arsenal have also had three this season, and they're Angels.
