Watched it last night. One of the most disturbing things I've ever seen and profoundly depressing yet compelling as a movie.

My dog (proper 57) had his anal glands emptied once and yes the smell is something to behold!!

The Social Network. Fantastic film. Stand out performance was from the bloke who played the Edwardo character, he was familiar and I was racking my brains who he was, turns out it's only Eddie Dunford from the Red Riding trilogy!!

You didn't think The Pianist was a good film???General Mannerheim wrote:Followed by 'The Pianist'
I watched Almodovar's Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down. Far from a classic by the maestro, my least favourite by a distance. Some moments of humour. A little underplayed poignancy. But pretty mundane, all in all, no real tension, generalised, sloppy. Two stars. IMO.

I found Season 3 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and a few episodes of Season 4.
As of Friday the 22nd I got a disc of season 4 back so now I have all the Episodes!
In Australia they have only released Season 1 & 2; If/when they finally release the rest I'll buy them even though I already have them digitally.

Just tried to order this from Play.com but it's not available yetGeneral Mannerheim wrote:The Social Network. Fantastic film.

Re: The Pianist - An absolutely incredible film. The scene with the old bloke in the wheelchair had me wanting to ring every German I know, just to call them a c*nt.

Brilliant isn't it... I even thought Justin Timberlake was surprisingly good.General Mannerheim wrote:Wow, just read the Winklevoss twins are played by the same bloke! It's very strange seeing an account of history that I actually lived through... I started university in 2005, and I remember all the talk of this 'Facebook' that was restricted to the Ivy League schools, and a handful of UK universities. Amazing what's happened since (and how it still is not obvious how Facebook can generate enough revenue to justify its $25bn(?) market capitalization).
I'd be interested to learn how accurate the film is - is there anywhere on the web where the film is compared to the actual facts of the story?

Yeah that bit in pianist is the defining moment, where you sit up and think 'oh no, this is gonna be grim!'

LoveFilm works really well for me, but i have a pretty esoteric taste in films - subtitles do it for partner and I. LF has a good 'world cinema' offer as well as loads of mainstream stuff. I'm on the unlimited, two DVDs at home at a time, plan at £12.99 a month... there's always a free 30 day trial offer going - so you could give it a whirl for nowt.clapton is god wrote:Any thoughts on LoveFilm?
I currently have a full Sky movie package but am thinking of dumping it. I'm sick of seeing the latest RomCom offering every Friday night and very little else.
Is LoveFilm worth it?
Appreciated your views on Love on the Dole, and really glad you enjoyed it, tho having a slightly different take on the production than me (I thought Barbara Peirson as Mrs H was outstanding for instance, and Mr H the least convincing of the cast - though still absolutely fine!). I think Kieron Hill's best performance was in 'Comedians'.
From The Guardian review: ... one that all the 18 or so millionaires in the coalition cabinet should be made to see next time one of them is tempted to announce that we must all share the pain...
I agree. No one will be surprised to find.
