What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Great Thorne again on Sky1, and Psychoville. It was ok, not as funny as the series was for me. Still a couple of laugh out loud moments though, and nice twist at the end

I noticed some or other film that's coming out soon boasts to be "The funniest film since The Hangover".

One to avoid for me then.

Surely it is just claiming to be the funniest film of the last 18months or so? Sounds quite good :D

Nope, definitely since The Hangover - there's even a poster declaring such on a bus shelter near our offices, with two blokes on it with a dog with one of those lampshade things on its head. I'll try and get the title of it tomorrow for you.

Definitely claiming the tallest dwarf title with that one.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Currently watching a documentary about the Tea Party Movement in America on BBC2, I've not really understood what they're about until recently so it's a useful watch.

By the way, my god I hate Fox News. They don't half come out with some ridiculous garbage!

Nice bit of Joy Division in opening 5 minutes!

Kind of hit the ground running, for me. Both Brydon and Coogan suit their characters.

Not bad, first episodes of new series usually do feel a bit underwhelming for me (unless its Generation Kill!) but I expect it to end up being pretty good. The long section of voice impressions seemed to slow it down too much for a 30 minute show though - hope its not impressions every week!!

Summed it up for me as much as is possible. First episodes usually are clunky, but I felt, impressions aside, it flowed much better than an average first episode of a decent comedy. Coogan plays a bit of an arse very well.

Apparently Coogan is an arse. A decent enough set-up for me, but I'm expecting much better.

Peter Hook's quote on Coogan playing Anthony Wilson in 24 Hour Party People is gold:

"isn't that great? The second biggest c*nt in Manchester is going to play the biggest c*nt in Manchester"

Worth a shufty on that iPlayer thing then?

Went to the local (Swedish) pub to watch Down By Law (they show a black and white film every Monday) except they couldn't be arsed to get it so we got Big Sleep instead. All well and good except the DVD crapped out with 20 nibs to go. Is it worth me trying to find out what happens in the end?

Is it just me (and I've loved Coogan as Partridge and Brydon in human remains) who found this to be bizarre self indulgent crap?

Are they parodying themselves? Or playing themselves? Or playing characters as themselves?

End of the day it seems more like two comedians having a laugh at the audience rather than with them. Bit of an in joke if anything.

I'll watch next week to see if it improves.

Coppers. It was funny but probably wasn't meant to be.
