Unbelievably good performance, best we have played in about 6 years. Davies immense, though MoM for me was Cahill, outstanding against Crouch, brilliant on the ball, and nearly scored a wonder goal to boot. Not a single player had a bad game though, all brilliant. Is a measure of how good a signing he has been that at one point I turned to my dad and said, "Holden hasn't been up to his usual standards today'. This after he'd missplaced about two passes. Six belting goals, I haven't seen a replay but Pavlychenko's looked a bit special from t'other end. Overall so so happy, it isn't an exaggeration to say we could have had seven or eight. Side netting three times, hit the post, should have had another blanant pen for Assou-Ekotto playing some b.ball with it, having already got away with the softest of freekicks ever after Lee pickpocketed him. I thought Bale did well for them, given the hype, took two and three to keep him quiet, which they did well, but the rest of the Spuds were too poor to take advantage of the space elsewhere. Both rightbacks scored too, when did that last happen. Aarghm I feel drunk I'm that happy. Davies must hate cockneys! Spurs and West Ham must have nightmares about him! I do hope Droopy was having a paddy. Coyle's post match interview should run. "I do believe we had the quality in the team to beat Spurs. You know what you will get from Spurs, big man up front and two bruisers in the middle, but I thought we dealt with their physicality very well".

Also Taylor after a poor first twenty minutes was much better than he has been recently. He is improving every game, and for every time he slows down a passing move there is two or three brilliant bits of positioning to make a chance. Should have scored, hit the post, put in a great ball for Elmander. Not only that he seemed to really care this week, did a lot of genuine tracking back that wasn't for show, helped out Robbo, and put in a couple of excellent blocks and tackles. Petrov wouldn't have. Then Petrov came on against tired legs and looked more dangerous than he ever has in a white shirt. I'd keep it the same next week.

Home now. Feeling very, very happy at the best all round team performance since Owen's arrival. a tremendous show from the boys, with not one weak link today.

Just fantastic.

Agree with SKD as MotM. but no player let us down (slightish twinges about Jussi...). Muamba fantastic and instrumental for goal no 1. Holden excellent. Taylor hard working. LCY in best performance of the season. The midfield was just great today. and actually improved with Petrov's arrival. Elmander had an enormous game, working like half a dozen Trojans. Cahill and Knight outstanding. Robbo doing well. And just why were we ever worried about Steinsson.

Crowd woke up nicely in second half too.

Great afternoon.

If sir nut had a brain the only honourable thing for him to do would be to blow it out.

:D :D :D

Told you all to be positive!

Want to know what these boys are being fed on because the workrate was unreal. Great that two goals came from our pressing high up the pitch, Muamba and Holden were outnumbered in midfield first half but Muamba was still willing to push on to make a similar situation tackle to that he did the other week on McCarthy. Given all that can't believe when he had the legs to chase Bale down late on, brilliant. Elmander and Davies kept working hard all game to pressure their back four and Gallas and Kaboul will have hated that today.

Bale put 3 great balls into the box first half, any of which could've been scored off.. Overall though we made sure we had the men back to defend those situations (Knight near post) and he didn't hurt us seriously in the end.

Ironically they looked a lot better coming down their right hand side when they were staging their comeback. Crouch was out of it, Pavlyuchenko had one touch but hell of a goal from him.

We're above them now, have that.

I thank you! 8)

The real plus for me is the sheer effort of the team. They run all game, chase and harry players and no heads ever looked like dropping. This is the spirit that OC's instilled and it shows in everybody. Petrov's goal got a fantastic reception from the crowd and players alike and you could see he loved it. He was one of the boys. Mixing the play short and long and always trying to attack is a far cry from dropping deep and wellying the ball hopefully forwards or straight back to them. Holden has made a vast difference in the middle and when Muamba finally gets one on taget....wow. Having a ball player like Lee who has skills and Elmander finally using his muscle and speed have all made a real difference. A big well done lads.

What a fantastic performance.

SKD was magnificent and deserved the MOM award. What a penalty.

However I thought Holden was immense, passing and harassing the...more please Stuart.

Was nervous at 3-2 but then cometh Petrov.

A great 3 points :D

just saw harry's interview
quote
The 21-year-old was also on the end of some hefty challenges but Redknapp said it is something he will have to get used to.

"People are going to tackle him," Redknapp said. "People are not going to stand there and just let him play.

"It's up to the referee to see it but I've got no problem with that today. He can take a tackle."
