What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Yes bish, it's pants.

I think this reviewer said it best
The Shouting Men is a watchable, if ultimately not very funny comedy that starts well but quickly runs out of ideas and has to settle for an increasingly tedious stream of non-PC jokes.

not being in the least bit interested in Coronation Street, though obviously having grown up with it being around - he's one of the very few soap actors I would recognise...

I heard him interviewed this morning and he used a phrase to describe his screen wife, Vera... he said..

"she flattened some grass in her time" - which meant she had been a bit of a goer! not a phrase I've come across before - but - nice one!

Incidentally - whenever I hear his name - Bill Tarmy - my brain subsititutes the chant "White Army!" (didn't we once have a poster called Why Tarmy?)

I watched Mystic River. Pretty poor movie in pretty much every way. But especially clunky script. Quite a bit of clunky acting too.

I saw somewhere that Ocean's Thirteen is ont' box this evening. Being as Ocean's Twelve is far and away the biggest pile of shite that I've ever sat through I'll not be bothering.

(Sorry, but we don't seem to have a 'This Evening I'll be Avoiding' thread.) :courtesy:

Ocean's Twelve is horrific, and possibly the only terrible film I have seen M. Cassel in. Thirteen is OK. Certainly not avoid like the plague, though neither must watch, more like the first remake, and a decent enough hour and a half.

Yep! It was one of those where I noticed it was coming on while channel hopping. Not seen much of it post Amstell for obvious reasons, but this was absolute gold! Jack Dee was possibly the perfect host to lay into them as well.

Clunky acting that won the Oscars for best actor (Sean Penn) and best supporting actor (Tim Robbins)?

mind you, i didnt think the film was that great though.

Well, now I know that I'll change my mind.

Penn was really poor, I thought. Emote, emote, emote, all surface. Robbins better. At least you thought the character had an internal life.

Both better than the script. What won Best Screenplay?

Indeed, it was the praise for it on here that decided me to watch it. Just didn't bake my banana.

it was nominated for best adapted Screenplay - but lost out to Lord of the rings (as did City of God)

i dunno, im a big fan of Sean Penn and try to see all his films, this one was one of the highest acclaimed, i enjoyed it, but isnt brilliant.

I'm doing well, then. i thought that with the exception of the first 20 mins Lord of the Rings was sheer tedium. I was so bored and didn't see the later two films. City if God my film of the year in pretty much every aspect.
