The guy formed a deadly partnership with Hasselbaink for about 3 years. How about these stats;truewhite15 wrote:I join you in that "Hmmmm". Eidur (you can argue this one but I'd still say 'Hmmmm'), McAteer, Stubbs, Caldwell, Thompson, Gavin, Sasa, Gunlaugsson, Per.
They've got the mogger!
2000–2006 Chelsea 186 appearances 54 goals = on average 31 appearances a season. That's pretty regular to me. This "Hmmmm" is complete b*llocks!

Fair enough - I didn't know the stats, and I concede to your superior knowledge on the subject!!MJH-12 wrote:The guy formed a deadly partnership with Hasselbaink for about 3 years. I could suggest that whilst he was at Chelsea, he started a fraction over half their league games (55%) and that of the ones he started, he got subbed in 60% of them). But I wouldn't do that....because that might make it sound that he wasn't that regular....MJH-12 wrote:The guy formed a deadly partnership with Hasselbaink for about 3 years. I doubt we will get a quarter of our money back for Elmander. He has the right to talk to other clubs on the 1st January. If he wants a similar deal to his current one (£40k/week has been mentioned) I personally think he will have to go on a free.Hoboh wrote:Half our money back for Mandy may be a good deal, watching him recently he seems to be getting the blinkers on again when facing the net. Cahill at about 12 will be right, Holden is one to worry about with Lee and possibly muamba.
If we get £2m for him we will be very lucky.

I'm guessing we're going all out for points now, and whilst us fans might want to push on for a Europa place if we keep this up, I bet that the board will secretly still be happy with 17th, and that means picking up 12 points from Jan onwards, supported by a good start and hindered by key player sales they will take it.
I can see it unfortunately. Looking good, and maybe the likes of Cahill, Mandy, Lee, Ali would be on the cards to sell, and maybe bring in some cheap uns for the bench. It would be horrible, and not our finest hour but I don't see how we can continue with this money situation.

I don't know the figures as well as most, but if we're losing £35mil a year, I don't see how we can continue with this money situation anyway. Selling players, even our good ones, seems like just pissing in the wind. Surely it's inevitable that with things the way they are, it's just a matter of time before our debt reaches a point where we can't continue?hisroyalgingerness wrote:I'm guessing we're going all out for points now, and whilst us fans might want to push on for a Europa place if we keep this up, I bet that the board will secretly still be happy with 17th, and that means picking up 12 points from Jan onwards, supported by a good start and hindered by key player sales they will take it.
