Last game of the season 9th May 2010 - scored the winner vs Birmingham at home I think. Attendance 22,863 approximately.HMX wrote:Must have been last season sometime, can't remember or find proof.thebish wrote:when was the last time that Klas started for us in a league game?HMX wrote:Shame if Elmander can't play - need those away goals of his!BBC Match Preview wrote:Bolton striker Johan Elmander has been suffering with a virus and is a doubt, with Ivan Klasnic a likely replacement..
Edit: 4-4-2 with Klas and Cyril upfront - both scored. Good omen?

Hilarious. Try it with a Black Country accent, sounds even funnier.TKIZ! wrote:Thought it was funny how they posted the comment from Supa John in his column whole sale but sagely instead of Supa John just put Fat John. Nice. This was posted in reply
Come on Wolves - let's shut this tin pot club up and get the win we need. It would be for the good of the game, not to mention mankind for that revolting pustule of a football club to get a good hiding - a club so immersed into everything wrong with football, who play at a ground about as attractive as McGitlay himself, with their ridiculous over-commercialised existence, greaseball Gartside, Lofty the stupid $$$$ing $$$$er Lion, appalling fans with their appalling support, grotty kits, other infamous Notlob $$$$$$s such as Richard Sneekes, Bob Taylor, Paul Robinson, Jason McAteer, Alan Stubbs, Gary Megson, Ivan Campo and a general feeling that the extermination of such a revolting club would be marked with an annual holiday where the country would be encouraged to hold street parties in celebration of the demise of something more wrong that a swimsuit calendar featuring Susan Boyle.

If someone read out the phone book in that diabolical accent I'd be in hysterics. You could take the most articulate man in the universe, but give him a Black Country accent then he'd sound like Cleetus the slack-jawed yokel ("Some folk'll never eat a skunk, but then again some folk'll - like Cleetus the slack-jawed yokel")William the White wrote:Hilarious. Nothing personal - I don't like meeting anyone in a dark alley - I much prefer an indoor bar (and many other places).East Lower wrote:Can't help the way you look, my friendMontreal Wanderer wrote:They simply post a link to us and vent their spleen on their own site. Very disappointed indeed.

That rant's dynamite. For some reason I can see Stan Collymore saying it.
Bit rich of a Wolves fan to call the 'Bok isn't it? The Moulinex is one hell of a dump.
I'm calling it the 'W Factor' from now but tomorrow's game is a prime example of the sort of match that we lose just because the opposition need a win. Not because they're a better team or they 'want it more' just because that's the way the gods have decreed.
They've had bad luck, last minute losses, pens denied and find themselves at the wrong end of the table despite some good performances. Ha! Ha! Gud!
It's not only about us cementing our position at the top its also about knocking another nail in their coffin. Let's see if we can keep the foot on their windpipe and lets all look forward to seeing McCarthy with a face like a slapped arse on Final Score.
WATOAOW!

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

In truth - I've a good few mates who are fans of Wolves (and Albion and Villa) from my time living in Darlaston and Wednesbury...
In fact, my best mate down there had twin boys - one supporting Albion, the other Wolves... Bet Christmas was nice...
Same as every other fans - same proportion of dickheads and dreamers and that's fine...
In 1958 - when both clubs had been at the top forever - we played each other in the Charity Shield - Wolves League champions, Bolton Cup winners... I doubt if there was one person in the crowd that day who would have thought it remotely possible that thirty years later they would be fighting each other for promotion from the fourth division...
Our journeys have not been dissimilar...

Generally reliable website, but I haven't been to an away match at Wolves before. First timeFootball Ground Guide wrote:However I have been advised that there is a small bar called the Bluebrick inside the Premier Inn hotel, located near to the railway station, which is being frequented by away fans. Also some away supporters have also been frequenting the Litten Tree in Victoria Street and the Goose in the City in Lichfield Street.

I remember the game and we slaughtered them IIRC - something like 4 or 5 to 1, with Nat getting a couple. It was the first time I saw Freddie Hill who was Nat's heir apparent. I think we had about five England internationals on that team (though they might not have played that day).William the White wrote:

I have no recollection of the fourth division having emigrated just in time!

Well, I left the country in 1963 when we were in the first division. After that there was a forty year black hole until the internet brought me back into the fold - and there we were in the premier league (so no tears shed though a few anxious moments).KeeeeeeeBaaaaaaab wrote:May well be a misty eyed thread generated soon....Montreal Wanderer wrote:I have no recollection of the fourth division having emigrated just in time!

Since it looks like Verbal and Pru are doing a match report, here's a quick preview:

So Taylor or Petrov and who comes in if Elmander doesn't make it? I reckon Taylor is heading back towards the form of a couple of years back.Looked put out most of last season but seems to be playing with a spark and a smile having seen the impact Coyle has had on the team and recognised that if he applies himself he can be part of it.Petrov could have more impact as a last half hour man.
I'd expect Elmander to start even if he's not 100% simply because the way in which he and Davies close defenders down has been a huge part of the way wanderers have taken the initiative in so many games this season.Blake and Klasnic aren't fit enough to do it and Moreno too lightweight. Great impact players but definite shortcomings as starters.
