Absolutely immense goal, could well overshadow anything else he's done for us when the time comes to assess his Bolton career perhaps?

Watch MOTD go and overlook it in favour of Onuoha's goal yesterday in the Goal Of The Month competition

Come on.. That was a class goal. I don't think it was as good as Elmanders but it was certainly a great goal

Typical. Todays paper gives Bolton half a dozen lines and the rest of a full page is all about Wolves woes, McCarthy's comments etc. On the goals:( near as I can remember)

"Bolton scored a second after Elmanders superb footwork and Holden tapped in a third" That's it about a masterclass goal and a brilliant bit of passing, build up and great finish. Like I said, typical.

I read the same thing. Pretty much dismissing it as another bog-standard goal rather than a piece of masterful technical skill. Shithouses.

That it was but no where near the quality of Elmanders. Mind you on the sky sports poll most people seem to be thinking differently. Get the feeling most of them never saw Elmanders goal.

At the time, he was at t'other end of the pitch and it 'looked' like the ball had bounced off the defenders shin and left him with an open goal.....how wrong I was.

Superb effort, up there with Eidur against Wimbledon

It wasn't as good as Steinnson's goal against Stoke.

What a strike that was.

In a wider sense, it was a well taken goal - will I still be raving about it in 15 years time - doubtful.

Do any of you brain-boxes know how I can embed Mr Malloy's gif into an email?

I think this has to win MOTD goal of the month but I'm thinking it's more likely Vidic or Macheda will win because as we all know it's vitally important that the scum get shown first and are favourites

We could make a decent shortlist just from goals in our games this month. FWIW I reckon Pavlychenko's against us will win it. Onuoha's was good, but if it hadn't been a full back there'd be no raving, the defending was pathetic.

Anyway, shortlist:

1 Steinsson vs Spurs
2 Hutton vs Us
3 Pavlychenko vs Us
4 Petrov vs Spurs
5 Beckford vs Us
6 Elmander vs Wolves
7 Holden vs Wolves
8 Davo vs Spurs (decent hit, but stuck in at the end to make up the numbers) :D

Paul Merson always says (yes I'm using Paul Merson as my source) that longer distance goals aren't as good because all the player is doing is just hitting the ball as hard as he can.

For that reason, I'm eliminating Pavlychenko's because I'm not convinced that he didn't just nice person it and hope for the best. Great goal, but not as good as Elmanders.

I wanna use it on another site.

Any help appreciated, thanks.
