The thread title caught my eye ... Nov 15th will be the day that Belfast is friendly !!

That'll be an improvement then !
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Bolton Wanderers have announced that they will be heading over to Northern Ireland later this year to mark the official opening of Cliftonville Football Club's new 3G facilities.

Owen Coyle's men will face the IFA Premiership Club in a friendly on Monday November 15 at Solitude.

The synthetic surface was recently laid as part of the Irish Football Association's Football Turf Project Funding Programme and the Reds recorded their first win on it at the weekend when Donegal Celtic were defeated 4-2.

Wanderers boss Owen Coyle said: "We are delighted to have been invited to mark the official opening of the stadium and we are looking forward to the visit."

Cliftonville Chairman Gerard Lawlor explained that it is great occasion for the club to receive a visit from an established Barclays Premier League club

He said: "Bolton Wanderers have been competing at the very top tier of English football for a decade and we at Cliftonville will be delighted to welcome them to Solitude. I would like to thank our Club President Jimmy Boyce for his help in securing this fixture.

"Their squad is very familiar to us thanks to their weekly exploits on Match of the Day and Sky Sports and we are really looking forward to seeing them in action on our doorstep and against our own homegrown stars - it will be a fantastic night for them and everyone at Cliftonville."

Manager Eddie Patterson was equally enthusiastic about the prospect of coming up against the Whites.

He added: "It will be quite a task for us but one that I'm sure the boys will relish.

"We always enjoy coming up against full-time opposition because they provide us with a good benchmark to test ourselves against. Already this season, we have performed admirably in European encounters with HNK Cibalia and CSKA Sofia but there's no doubt that Bolton represent an almighty step up from that level.

"And for me personally, it will be great to pit my wits against someone like Owen Coyle. He is a legend at Bolton and his achievements as a manager speak for themselves."

Supporters are advised that this will be an all-ticket occasion and detailed arrangements of such will be advertised in due course.

You wouldn't have to look very far to find some interesting and probably highly confidential information on there.

Apparently somebody called Coyle is starting up front. Is he a trialist?

Can't find the Wanderers line-up, but here's Cliftonville starting XI.

JC, Flem, Ronan, Pizza, Lego, Geordie, Chris, Stevie G, Janty, Jones and McVeigh.

I presume the keeper's good on crosses.

Via a reliable source, our starting XI tonight includes:

Klasnic, Mark Davies, Cohen, Bogdan, Rodrigo, Alonso, Blake and Coyle

Oh yes.
