Will we lose Elmander in January?

Post by Odelay » Tue Nov 16, 2010 10:06 am

I really hope he decides to stay with us. Lets hope he doesn't hold any resentment towards to the club and fans for the last two seasons.

I've honestly always rated him despite his lack of goals. He always got himself into good positions, confidence just ruined his finishing. Clearly this is beginning to turn around.

Seems the finances of the club here are the major problem as I worry he will leave if he is asked to take a pay cut. Hopefully Garty & Davies can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

I've voted no because I don't see anyone paying good money for Elmander based on 13 good games and one wonder goal. Someone will take him for nothing next summer, particularly if he continues his good form for the rest of the season. But why pay millions for him in January, that would in my opinion be

Nobody spends in January anymore, unless they get a sudden cash injection. The only teams who can afford to spend a few million ££'s in January's window, probably have options in that department already

Was thinking West Ham might come for him. He'd suit them well.

Only because he's infinitely better than anything else they have there.. He may be good for them, but they won't be good for him. If he goes anywhere it'll be abroad.

He'll be off, if not in the flesh he'll sign a pre-contract somewhere abroad.

Not bothered either way. He has flattered to deceive for two and a bit years. Would be nice to see the 'real' Elmander but it's too little too late for me to be devastated should he leave.

If he leaves we won't get any money for him but it'll free up some wages.

Hopefully he's training with some of the younger forwards we have so maybe they can learn some things.

Brady waas on t'radio today reassuring us all that Grant's job is safe - in fact, the board have to take some responsibility - and January will be an opportunity for them to do that..

sounds a bit like another West Ham panic-buy session is on the horizon...

You're worried that Elmander will be pissed off with the fans and club after his first two years?

Are you his agent?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Oh, and I didn't vote, because I haven't got a clue.

Well I'm sure the booing that occured in the first two years and the possible pay cut he may be required to take won't sit too nicely. Obviously I haven't got a clue whether these factors have affected him. It's all hypothetical. It doesn't take an agent to figure that out.

It takes an agent to put that kind of spin on events though.

I wonder if, considering we're included as a possible reason for leaving, conversley his own shame at such piss poor performances on such great money for two years would force him to put pen to paper and his staying on a reduced deal?

I don't remember much booing directed at anyone other than Megson.

He will stay. He will realise that OC is a great manager for strikers, and that his best chance of retiring with the reputation of a great player is to build on the last two months, which is all his career in England has really been about.

Sad, so he goes then,simple!
He is not an honest person if he could not see why he was boo'd, or a fool.

Hope leading reason and I voted no. I do hope he'll realise that Coyle is the man to get the best out of him and he's finally got the system here working in a way that needs him and that he's good in.

Whether he will - or if he does but his agent is too influential - is another matter.

I think it is more likely Cahill will be gone.
