I was sent this video by a fellow student after coming down to London for university. The video, if a little annoying, isn't totally enraging, it's more the comments beneath.

When I'm lucky enough to find a Whites game down here in a pub, (Spurs and Arsenal were two examples, and obviously carried a bias), I've found that no matter how diplomatic and subtle I am in terms of celebratory aspects of watching the games, and also of discussions regarding 'overly reckless challenges', the reception is shocking. It's far beyond banter, it's far beyond ridicule. It's often threatening and violent, and although there are definitely those sorts of fans up in Bolton, (they certainly weren't had to come by in Howfen where I lived), there were those fans that just enjoyed the crack.
Are there any other Bolton fans down here who've found the same? (By the way, I'm not in pubs in Hackney etc. I'm in Tufnell Park, which is a leafy Lostock-like suburb).[/url]

I don't engage in banter with Arsenal. They can't take it. Haven't met one yet who isn't completely f*cking deluded about their team (with the exception of 'boltonaremysecondteam' but I haven't 'met' her as such) Was having a chat with an aquaintance after that away game who was giving me shit about how Arsenal play football the right way. He nearly exploded when I asked him how many more trophies that had won them in the last 5 years than us.JHT22 wrote:I was sent this video by a fellow student after coming down to London for university. Spurs can be funny at times but for the most part are realistic. My mates are mainly West Ham and are mostly quite grounded.
Youtube arguments, in fairness, always involve cretins. EDIT: No offence Keveh
As for Arsenal fans. Can be lovely people, as long as you don't talk about football, where they're all cocks. Spurs fans, IMO, worse, though not much in it. West Ham 50% cocks, 50% decent propah football people (what do luv their muvvas, but dont go on abaht it).

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

They certainly never start the season off thinking realistically.Gary the Enfield wrote:I don't engage in banter with Arsenal. They can't take it. That's the times they can be funny. My windowcleaners are both Spurs fans and, if I'm working from home I often make them a brew (not a cuppa) and we talk about the game. Nice lads. They absolutely refuse to wash next door's windows though, as he's a gooner.seanworth wrote:They certainly never start the season off thinking realistically.Gary the Enfield wrote:I don't engage in banter with Arsenal. Diverging slightly from Spurs fans to window cleaners, I nicked our window cleaner's ladders (DBM) while he was on our extension roof, when I was about 15, because he was flashing the V's at my poster of Worthy on the wall.Gary the Enfield wrote:That's the times they can be funny. Left him up there and went out. He jumped it eventually.
