He's now training with England and Capello says he'll start, so perhaps he'll ping a muscle.Il Pirate wrote:Barton is banned isn't he? I think the toon may struggle a bit without him. He's been a real driving force for them this season, and is twice the player he used to be. Without Barton, and if Caroll is out injured, I think they will lose a lot of what's made them good this year. I see another home win. No clean sheet tho, could be another 3-2.

Let's hope so. He's a bit of a stump, but would give our boys a torrid time. I don't even know who their second choice striker is, so let's hope he suffers a recurrence (and then is fit again the week after....)Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:He's now training with England and Capello says he'll start, so perhaps he'll ping a muscle.Il Pirate wrote:Barton is banned isn't he? They've been playing 4-4-2 with Shola Ameobi also up top. The amusingly-named Nile Ranger tends to come on as sub, while Peter Lovenkrands (recently played out wide) has also been known to play up top. Lovenkrands and Ranger are quite nippy, if that sort of thing scares you.East Lower wrote:Let's hope so. He's a bit of a stump, but would give our boys a torrid time. I think I'd rather face them with Ameobi and Ranger - both shite. Lovenkrands....I always thought he was a winger! I have a good feeling that even if Carroll plays then we'll still have too much for them. Will Barton be banned?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:They've been playing 4-4-2 with Shola Ameobi also up top. Even if he's fit, I think we have enough at the back to deal with housemates Stan Caroll and Ollie Nolan. 3-1 Whites.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:He's now training with England and Capello says he'll start, so perhaps he'll ping a muscle.Il Pirate wrote:Barton is banned isn't he? They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

Danny Guthrie started in Saturday's home 0-0 with Fulham. His first start in yonkers. Replaced by regular sub Routledge with 15 to go. Nicky Butt retired in summer, working with ESPN now. Alan Smith's been an unused sub in the last nine league games, hasn't started since they lost at home to Blackpool. I'd expect Guthrie & Nobby in the middle, awww.East Lower wrote:Happy days. Happy days indeed
Out of interest, Newcastle have a tiny backroom staff - Hughton hasn't even really got an assistant since Colin Calderwood left for Hibs.

Guthrie and Nolan? Suits me......Guthrie was one of the most impotent midfielders we've had in many a year. Spent a lot of time on the pitch, but didn't actually do anything whilst there....Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Danny Guthrie started in Saturday's home 0-0 with Fulham. His first start in yonkers. Good for sell on prices... like it....longy wrote:Don't really care who's playing for the Toon, we will 'ave 'em!
First clean sheet since the start of the season, 2 goals from the Elmo and one from Cahill will do me thank you very much
when did they stop being the Barcodes ?
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham
Barcodes are clever!norm the jedi wrote:Good for sell on prices... like it....longy wrote:Don't really care who's playing for the Toon, we will 'ave 'em!

If he's withdrawn and then goes on to play on Saturday Newcastle should be sanctioned.Barr Hill wrote:Sky reporting that Newcastle want Carroll withdrawn from tonight's match as they believe he is not match fit (carrying a groin injury).
Go on Fab - PLAY him
Kevin Davies would crawl over broken glass for a full cap and they are treating it like an annoyance.
I hope Carroll is assessed as fit and forced to play the full 90 minutes.

John Terry
Steven Gerrard
Just three off the top o'my'ed who have done similar - too injured for England, but fit enough for club. Ban them for a fortnight for that sort of shit.
