I like it but can we leave out the dog reference? That kind of thing really doesn't happen anymore.Prufrock wrote:Worthy4England wrote:Spurs got three,

Actually, it does still. But regardless, I agree that dog references when it comes to Korean players is getting old and lacks imagination. "More World Cup goals than Wayne Rooney" is, on the otherhand, sheer genius.SonsOfThunder wrote:I like it but can we leave out the dog reference? I know you can still get it but it's generally frowned upon in mainstream culture is it not? You won't see TV ads for Mr. Chung's Dog Stew.

No, you certainly won't see ads for it but at the same time, it is not really frowned upon. Really depends on how you define mainstream. I think to put it accurately, it is not a common dish and can only be found in specialty restaurants. Also, I am sure the dog-eating days will be gone in a few generations as less youngsters are prone to canine consumption.
Right, end of this mini thread hijack and any further references to dog-eating hopefully.

indeed - it lets us down (IMO) - it has appeared on here from time to time - but I don't think I ever expected to see it from Prufrock....midnitefooty wrote:

Our TD is the cleverest of clogs and years ago he came up with a greaseproof membrane that's now commonly used in foodservice. At the product launch one of the possible applications was given as dogfood, which, at the end of the presentation had the Koreans scuttling up to him asking him to clarify whether he meant food for dogs or dogs as food.
May the bridges I burn light your way
