Elmander to be offered new contract?

Average value about £30m each - and all on £5m a year plus.

Since we can't afford anyone better, I suggest we offer him a new deal
I just hope that the goals haven't gone to his head and that he doesn't push for and get a high salary. He's a long way from being in the same league as theses other guys or Rooney or Jones or Bent, etc, etc even though he is above them in goals at present.

Worth a new contract but only if its not at an overinflated level.
I'd take Elmander above Jones any day of any week.
I'm better than Kenwyne Jones.
If I was 6ft 5 and head dread(sp) locks, judging on his ability, I'd be a millionaire international footballer

I think Kenwyne Jones is a decent player, when he can be arsed, actually...

According to the Mirror - and Nixon in particular - we're going to offer him a year on similar terms to give us time to buy us some time.... Makes sense to me

He should accept, if he has any decency.

I hope we can sort out a deal with Elmander but either way it has nothing to do with decency.

Well I do think it has something to do with decency since he is basically being asked to extend his contract another season and he wasn't on meager wages to begin with. Now him taking a pay cut has nothing to do with decency but that's another argument.

Is Elmo the highest paid player at the club and if so how much is he on?

Can't be that much is it?

I believe Davies, Elmander, Cahill and Taylor are the highest paid, but if you listen to that bloke from the ticket office on away days then it's Muamba on £75,000 per week

Allegedly £40k a week... I'd have thought Petrov and Klasnic are on similar or better deals

Reports suggested Petrov is on about £30k/w.

As for Klasnic, my understanding is that he was the highest paid played at the club last year, which is why it took so long to negotiate this summer, as we weren't prepared to repeat that for someone not capable of playing 90 mins regularly.

So as I understand it, Elmander is our highest paid player.

Fairly expensive wage alri considering how shite he was last year. Hope he does the decent thing and takes a pay cut and signs a 3 yr deal  . Here's hoping :D .

Why would you give a 30 year old a 3 year deal in this day and age?

Yeah - we should probably rip up Davo and Jussi's last extensions...both over 30 and both ended up with three year Contract Terms- although I think they were both 1 year extensions to deals that had 2 years to run...
