The 'more World Cup goals than Rooney' bit wasn't mine. Would have referenced it but had no idea whose it was. I'm guessing Worthy's :D. I'm sure I have heard someone try it at a game, and fail!

As for the dog thing it was meant to be affectionate. United have a similar thing and I'm sure I've read Park said he wasn't bothered, so I, perhaps naively, assumed it was 'Frogs' legs' type jokey comment, as opposed to something actually used insultingly?

I didn't try it at a game :-)

Hah. I wasn't aware The Kingsman were from Portland. I'm surprised I've never heard a Louie Louie chant from Sounders fans. Perhaps they are too enthralled singing Seattle... Sounders... Seattle... Sounders... for.. 90...... minutes... :D
So THAT is why HP chose Bolton :D

Ah apologies then. No harm done.

Park's song is a little different. The exact words are, "They eat dogs in your home country' which, although embarrasing, happens to be a true statement. There is no actual connection with Park. The labrador comment above is different.

Regardless of all that, my point was, must we always have a dog reference for Korean players? Seems to lack imagination, as I said.

Anyway, let's move on.

Agreed. In general I'm in favour of imagination for supporters.

Less so for referees.

I'd like to stop the dog references but fear it's impossible. What are the favourite Korean stereotypes for Brits?

They mock us for keeping dogs as pets. Call us animal lovers and imply that we think that they are man's best friend. The racist bastards.

That's the thing though, none really exist. I've asked around the office and everyone says "tophats". Like everyone in England looks like the monopoly guy.

my favourite international insult to the English is still the French...

rosbif!

apparently it isn't the only gastro-inspired racial slur...

"locust eaters" - Afghans
"salmon crunchers" - Alaskans
"goulash-heads" - Hungarians
"frogs" - french
I guess "limeys" too

Yes - that happy smiling face on the video always made me want to put my foot through the tv.
