They played for both clubs.

Dave Hatton did as well, I think Bob Hatton went there from us via Northampton, Carlisle Birmingham and then to Blackpool.

Rivi, that's correct. I put up a list of all Bob's clubs just below Zulu's enquiry.

Dave Hatton, Farnworth lad, did play for both of this Saturday's clubs. Indeed, over only played for ourselves, Bury and Blackpool

1961-1969 - Bolton Wanderers ..... 231 games
1969-1976 - Blackpool ..... 251 games
1976-1979 - Bury ..... 97 games

Alex Smith, goalkeeper, came to us from Accrington Stanley when they folded and understudied Eddie Hopkinson.

He did. Rarely, but he had a good few games and was a decent keeper.

He had 20 games in total between 1962-68, 11 of these games were in the 1963 -64 season when Hopkinson was out injured for a time. We were eventually relegated from the old First Division at the end of that season. Not Smith's fault just a poor team and a manager, Mr Ridding, who was not really up to date with the change in football at that time.
