Chung-Yong signs new Wanderers deal
Chung-Yong Lee has signed an extension to his contract which ties him to Wanderers until 2013.
The South Korean has made a big impression since arriving at the Reebok Stadium in July of last year from FC Seoul in a £2.2million deal.
The deal comes as a boost to Wanderers at a time when speculation has arisen that the club may have to sell in the wake of their total debt reaching £93m.
Manager Owen Coyle said: "It is terrific that the club are tying down young players like Chung-Yong and are building for the future, particularly given all the things that have been written about us financially."

Re: Chung-Yong signs new Wanderers deal
This was a bit out of the blue but really good news. I read somewhere this week that CYL has scored 2 and created 5 goals this season already. After a bit of a slow start (World Cup etc) he has been on top form this last 6-8 games and is not only a threat going forward but he doesn't seem like he will blow away in the wind any more.
Considering what Phil Gatside said last week, I feared CYL may have been a target for one of the big clubs in January. Especially considering CYL has previously expressed his desire to be challenging for a trophies and playing in the Champions League so I think this is a result of our current form and league position.
Well done OC, Phil, Eddie and BWFC.

Good news.
However, is this a good day to bury bad news? No word yet on Elmander.

So basically he's signed an extension so we'll get a better price for him in January.
Fairy nuff, I've got no complaints with that.

We'd likely get between £8m-£10m for the lad, I should think, which makes a nice return on our investment.

It's being so positive that keeps us going !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It would be great if, when announcing the starting 11 on Saturday as the players are coming on he introduces Elmander with 'Number 9, and signed a new 2 year contract extension... Johan Elmander!'. The crowd goes wild, a fantastic atmosphere begins to brew which lifts the team to another victory!
I'm getting a bit carried away but I REALLY REALLY REALLY cant wait for Saturday!!!

Personally, purely from a business point of view it's better we've got Lee siogned on than Elmander.
